Anyone check out the beta for Dawn of War II yet? It's free right now on Steam, and it's pretty good. I'm pretty awful at it (never really played an RTS before) but it's still fun playing with a few friends from the dorm.

So, anyone got it?

Oh, it's free now? I'll probably suck ass at it, but I may as well go and give it a whirl. Will be back with feedback when I get to try it

I found out you can use the Dawn of War II beta key from Steam to activate any Games For Windows Live game.

GTA IV
Gears Of War
Halo 2
Fallout 3

If you have a pirate copy and want to activated it to play online. You can sign up on Steam and get 1 free key. Then log out, sign up another user, take key, log out, sign up another ect.

The actual game is out now, complete with a single player campaign. Think I'll check it out.

EDIT: The single player campaign is awesome, it's like a real-time RPG. You only get to use the Space Marines, but you use the same 6 units throughout, so there's a real diversity with level paths (you can upgrade health, melee, ranged, or energy every time you level up) and various equipment you can give them. I'm really liking it, and might even buy it after my birthday (coming up soon).

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
