Hacking CompC's amiibo Cards!

This is not as good as yours @CompC but I was just trying something for Yoshi's Yarn Amiibo's. Maybe you can find some inspiration for your cards for the yarn amiibo's..

Those look nice! I have Blue Yarn Yoshi sitting on my desk in front of me and I completely forgot about those. I'll have to make some of those that match mine!

EDIT: Added Peach, Zelda, and Rosalina from the Smash Bros. series, and Luigi from the Super Mario series!

I added Villager and King Dedede (plus some other ones). Next I'll add Bowser and Peach from the Super Mario series. I'll add Wario once I find high quality art of him, but Gold Mario and Turbo Charge Donkey Kong will take a bit longer since they require more work.

It would be really nice to print and laminate these and just carry them as a deck of cards.

Would lamination kill the tag?

There's cold-press lamination as well that shouldn't kill the card. It just forces two plastic films together with adhesive. You should be able to find them in an office store, iirc 3M makes them.

Also I'd totally make use of these, but I don't have all the required equipment or money to gather the necessary materials. They're really good though ;o;

I ordered some 29mm x 29mm NTAG215s and would love something that could perfectly fit those dimensions.

Heh, so 2 questions regarding this whole setup...

First off, do Amiibos actually inject new data into a game or simply unlock content that's already there? (ie could an NTR/Gateway code unlock said content and bypass the need for the Amiibo altogher?) Since Amiibos are essentially DLC or a form of microtransaction (and given that NFC tags don't hold huge amounts of information), I'm just curious if it's really adding info or just unlocking it.

Second, and I know you can't link to it here, but has anyone found a place to download the tag images and a way to write them to a blank NFC tag? I have a Galaxy S4, so I can read/write NFC tags using that..and my n3DS has NFC reading built in.

they are the key for the extras that are ingame XD I think cheats and stuff can make it possible without an amiibo, but they store some data too(like the smash character?)

I don't know about downloading and usase... the similar I have to an NFC reaer/wrtter is an skylander base that no one have interest in making it a usefull writter, or makig DIY skylanders cards :v

Sorry… I ordered the same size tags, but I'm planning on making cards. It's already a bunch of work to do these, and I don't really feel like making them all in another size. But if you want to crop them or something, go for it.

Those won't be compatible. The card must have 504 bytes of usable space, those have 888 bytes.

Don't feel rushed, we all need to waite for our NFC tags anyway haha. I got a message from the seller from Aliexpress that the tags won't be shipped till the 21st because of Chinese newyear. So keep up the good work, but take your time.
