I purchased this thing from an Aliexpress store and I think I was the first customer, because it still only says one sold. I'm having trouble though, if you can help me please. It worked excellent when I plugged it into my SP, and I was hoping to add roms (to verify rtc). I used the included SD adapter instead of immediately throwing it out, and I think that's where I messed up. It corrupted the SD and I have no idea how to re-flash the firmware to this thing. I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I looked at the other threads for a similar card, and it said it was for the SuperCard SD but this one I got looks just like the image. I saw the supercard sd for sale and i didn't want it due to its limited features, but when i saw this card (sc game card Pro+) I wanted it immediately.

this is my first flash cart, and now that I know a little better, my personal hunch is that maybe it is the supercard sd with the updated SCFW firmware others install aftermarket? I don't want to brick it or anything though. the difference in product naming made me hesitant. I'm a newbie. please help me innerstand!

thank you.

edit: for the curious minded, this was the title description of the product:

SCFW V1.5 GBA Game Cartridge 1000+ Games for Game Boy Advance GBC GB NES with 8GB TF Card Adapter Flash

that's what made me think it may be the scfw but when i check the threads there isn't a download with this card.

After being unable to format the sd card and plugging it in and out so many times and it not being recognized and lagging my computer I plugged it back into the cartridge and turned on my gameboy and it worked! Then I was able to load roms on it and verify the rtc is not working.

Following the identification guide in the super few thread I found out my cart is not on the list. I think. It said to look in the info tab and this is what I got:

I was really hoping to use the rtc function, am I sol? Or should I just try updating, and if so with the non-lite package, right?

Okay it has a flash dump feature. I’m going to try this on my sp. my ds isn’t reading my r4. The contacts are too thin. Can a mod merge this with the other thread. I’m pretty confident now it is the non lite variant because it is the same guy listed in the title screen. I’m going to flash it.

so after loading it on to my pc once, i was never able to read it again.

It works, I can play the roms I loaded that one time, but that's it. it doesn't want to be read no matter what adapter or pc I use. i was trying to back up the .bin file it says to in the david docs and it won't be read by the pc.

i regret not thinking of backing it up the first time i could read it, then i would just make a new sd card.

The .fw file i see on the site says it requires the system actually running to flash. :(

i may have to purchase another one and back up that one's sd card and then write it for this cart. I got a partial-refund (10 USD) after paying 13 USD in an early bird price offer and I get to keep it. So i'll try and make it work.

edit: I got the RTC working after reading the troubleshooting section of the docs!

My settings are:

Emulated RTC
No-igm
No Direct Save (Manual)

And Emerald is still working with fast load.

I might not even bother with another one. This is exactly what I wanted it for!

edit: spoke too soon. got the clock to update once. it's still complaining about a corrupt save file and won't change the clock again. it reverted to the old time. i think i'll try making a new game file.

is there any reason the rtc clock wouldn't update in the in-game menu?

i'm assuming my battery is dead. i changed the time once and I think that's what led to it updating in game. i'm assuming when i changed it back to emulated rtc.

anyway, this needs a new battery I think. useful only for fram games right now. I guess I'll look for something else. that's a gyp. a battery drain so fast it arrives dead!

it passes the battery test in the menu. this has me frustrated. ack.

okay, so after some more searching just now, i came across this video...

It shows me that the sd card doesn't require any files on it to run, unlike the R4 cards which were all I was familiar with as far as flash carts went.

I was thinking it was like the R4 cards, with the OS on the SD card loaded when you unzipped the files on to it.

That video made perfect sense now that I saw it. Something is wrong with the docs if I couldn't make that out simply from reading them.

Aaand it worked, I’ve got access to to a fresh sd card. I’m hoping it all works now.
