Hey everyone,

I've been working on a passion project for a few months and wanted to share a sneak peek and get early feedback before the first public release.

What is it?
PKHeX-NX is a 100% native Nintendo Switch homebrew app that edits Pokémon Scarlet & Violet save files directly on the console. No PC, no pulling the SD card, no dumping tools. It's a from-scratch C++ port of the core concepts behind the legendary PKHeX (not affiliated with the PKHeX team).

What already works (v0.9.3):

  • Full save crypto: SHA256 footer verification, xorpad decryption, SCBlock/SCXorShift32 parsing
  • Box viewer (32×30 grid) with inject / clone / delete / export to .pk9
  • Stat & trait editor: IVs, EVs, Natures, Tera Types, Force Shiny — with automatic checksum healing
  • Trainer edits: Name, TID/SID, Money
  • Legality-aware generator:
    • Real abilities (Ability 1 / 2 / Hidden)
    • Level-accurate moves from each species' real level-up learnset, with correct max PP
    • Growth-correct EXP across all 6 experience curves
    • Egg generation (valid egg flag, hatch cycles, level-1 moveset)
    • 26-ball picker with correct in-game ball IDs
  • Scarlet + Violet support with a boot-time game selector
  • Safety net: byte-verified SD backup before every write, dual-file commit, one-button rollback
Everything is hardware-validated with photographic proof — generated mons render cleanly in-game with correct stats, abilities, and moves.

What's next (v1.0 / v1.1):

  • Legal move picker (hand-pick the 4 equipped moves)
  • SDL2 graphical UI (current build is a text console)
  • More titles (Legends: Z-A, then Gen 8 codecs)
  • Bag editor, Living-Dex automator, and more
Why post now?
I'm pre-release and want this community's feedback on features, safety, and direction before I polish the UI and do a full launch. The repo is public if you'd like to follow along or review the code:

The boring-but-important part:
This is an educational project. Modifying save data always carries risk. The app has a robust backup system, but always keep your own manual backups. Use offline and at your own risk. Not affiliated with PKHeX, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company.

Thanks for reading — feedback welcome!
