Hacking cIOSrev15 released and it's broken yay

As I said, I LEFT the scene. Yes, I LEFT it. Anyway, I thought I should release a rev15, to fix DL bug and other things. I just tried to make a better cIOS, despite I don't have many free time to work on this and I cannot test my stuff anymore.

I gave rev15 to some testers. WiiPower was the only one that found a bug. I couldn't find out why this bug occurs (and why only occurs in neogamma), it has no sense. I tried to fix it with no luck (I had to rewrite some code only to see if the bug was gone).

I release rev15 and I find a bunch of people saying things I didn't expect, specially after I've been working on this despite I left the scene.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm out, and this time is forever.

PS: This is not because of WiiPower. I would really like to fix that issue.

There are many ppl here that really appreciate your work...believe me...i'm not alone on this.
Please...dont leave the scene based your decision on some ppl opinion.

My only question is: Now, that you do not want to continue the support for the cIOS, is there any chance that you release the source code? It would be a shame if all your work would be in vain.

I really hope you two agree on releasing them. I'm sure there's someone out there who would be willing and able to continue all the hard work the both of you have done. Thanks for everything and good luck with whatever project you've moved on to.

can Rev 15 do exactly the same as Rev 14 but with bug fixes e.g DL now fixed or does Rev 15 break anthing originally in Rev 14 in anyway like 14 did with DL support?

It only causes the 001 error with NeoGamma other than that it's all fixes and people should stop complaining cause it just ends up in wars and the mods locking the topic.

Cheers, for that. I'd backed off trying rev 15 because of the negative comments, but given Waninkoko's intensions (as bug fix for rev14) I'm just grateful for his work and the opportunity to try it.

My thanks to Waninkoko and I wish him well in his future endeavors.

Imagine spending time away from friends and family to do something for complete strangers only to have them slag you off and moan about the very thing you have spent a lot of time on. I am surprised he lasted as long as he did but when NINTY manage to find a way to manufacture games that need a new revision then the same people here moaning about his work will be the same ones moaning that it is no longer working and then they will be shouting and screaming for somebody else to start doing it then crying if they dont and all the while THEY will be the ones responsible for it not being updated with thier stoopid selfish childish behaviour.

If you ripped brawl using rev 14, then you'll need to re-rip it. This bug affected ripping AND playing of dual-layer games.

I wouldn't say release the source, cause not many people know what to do with it, but just to give it to WiiPower, so he can find and try to fix some tinny bugs and stuff, I really don't see why we would need a new cIOS, there is no game worth of playing with issues, but you know how kids behave when you give them candy.....!!!

Summary: Nintendo wins, fair use loses. The precious right to back up your investments and use those back ups will come to end soon. Sure, you'll be able to back up Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the 2010/2011 Zelda and other new games, but you won't be able to boot them because of the DRM within them.

All the players are leaving the Wii scene and the ultimate victim in this is the fundamental right to make one (1) back up copy of software you own.

Thank you for your efforts, Waninkoko. Without your custom IOSes I for one would not have been able to protect my investments and I would have been unable to play games as of January when my Wii's disc drive stopped being able to read discs. I have enjoyed exercising my fair use rights but like all good things they come to an end. Farewell and good luck on your future endeavors and journeys.

True. And since it's now clear that he did try to fix the issue, I'd like to suggest that a compromise could be made for NeoGamma to support the cIOS even if it has to improperly implement the 001 fix. Or will that not fix the issue?

man don bail out on the wii scene jus cuz some people act like morons. ya did nothin wrong it's just a minor issue that could probly be fixed in neogamma, seeings that the sourcecode was released with neogamma i'm sure if wiipower would approve someone elts can build a cios rev15 fix for neogamma and hopefully have it added. b/c with cioscorp personally havn't had any issues with the 001 bug. btw don't say i dunno what u b goin through with time b/c personally i have classes to attend too and projects i wouldn't mind fixing and finnishing myself and can't get to 90% of the time.

Wanin, I thank you and I won't be able to express my gratitude for all you've done for us.
Even if you won't ever release anything else I'd always be thankful and ready to buy you a beer if you come visit around here in Italy

that beins said, just to be sure that I will not be misunderstood (I'm not just kissing your ass to get you to release more stuff!) you know the internet and the morons who inhabit it. They're the ones who want everything, free, perfect and now. Don't listen to them, youre an awesome guy who gave up lots of free time to allow many people from all over the world expand their experience with their console. All of this for free.
It sucks when you don't even get thanked or even worse you get reactions like this time. But it's happened in the past and it will happen in the future, it's just the way people are especially on the internet.
I for one am adult enough to recognize what you did and thank you for it. cIOS 15 has bugs? whatever. The simple fact you still worked on it despite having left the scene it's a great thing to my eyes.
For the future do whatever you want, you deserve it. Wheter you'll continue your work or not just don't pay attention to the jackasses

If wiipower dont want to fix neogamma just use another usb loader and stop complaining, he wanted 2 release this, if you dont like his work dont use it.

There are a lot of usb loaders i dont know why ppl are complaining so much. He doesnt even get a dollar for this and waste a lot of time.

Dont know why you need a post bitching about this wiipower, make the loader compatible with the cios or just make a cios yourself. He can do what he wants at the end.
