Homebrew Changing IOS from 58 to 80 on a 4.3U?

I was wondering if it would be safe to use DOP-Mii to do what the thread title says.
My Wii is already softmodded for backups. It runs on IOS58, according to DOP-Mii.
It is an original Wii model.

Any help would be appreciated. I haven't been able to play a few of my VC games since my black Wii died. Oh well.

Modifying any IOS below 200 is never safe. Perhaps if you said what you're trying to do?

IOS58 is a standard title IOS with USB2.0 and NAND access. IOS80 is related to the system menu resources. They're not interchangeable.
