Homebrew Cannot open hbmenu after accidentaly updating to 10.0.3 through CFW

Hello guys,

I had updated my switch to 10.0.2 and everything was perfect running atmosphere. Then I accidentally went online and loaded a game and pressed on the update button (my switch was already banned a long time ago so thats not the issue. I mainly turn on Wifi so I can play docked mode).

Switch instantly crashed and it could not read my exFAT 64gb card anymore.

So I had to get my 32gb fat32 card and set it up. That way I can downgrade my firmware through ChoiDujour on exFAT to come back to 10.0.2 to get the 64gb card working again.

So right now I am able to run CFW through my 32gb card and every time I open album I get:

Error: assetsInit() failed: 0x80.
Press the + button to exit.

Already tried reformatting the sdcard and reinstalling atmosphere through sdsetup, with no success.

Can someone point me in any direction?

have you tried to open hbmenu with a game instead the album?

What do you mean by opening hbmenu with a game?

Do you mean trying to play an installed nsp?

Tried that it did not work as well. Games do not start.

I already tried using another SD card as well on fat32 and still cannot open album.

Im starting to think that accidentally updating might crash hbmenu for good.

I recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Make a NAND backup with Hekate if you haven't already. Store it somewhere safe.
2. Make sure the SD card is FAT32.
3. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/). Preferably, you'd remove everything from the SD card.
4. Download the latest Atmosphere from github
5. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
6. Download these signature patches
7. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card. Overwrite anything that's still there.
8. Put the SD into your Switch
9. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary

Did all the steps above.

After injecting the payload fusee-primary, I get:

ERROR Fatal error: Unexpected Magic in BCT.ini

EDIT:

Ok can confirm both my SD cards have been corrupted somehow after that unintended update to 10.0.3 firmware.

They are literally broken.

Now the question is: Does that new 10.0.3 update have the power to crash your SD card if it has CFW installed?

Gonna have to buy new card for testing
