Gaming can guitar hero be used just for karaoke?

wife loves karaoke so got the following for her
boogie (dont work) and boogie superstar
american idol 1 and 2
sing it and the bootleg sing it star 90s
rock band 1 and 2


i see guitar hero has singing, can you use it just for singing? not saying i wont get a guitar at some stage but....

Guitar Hero IV, Guitar Hero Metallica, and Guitar Hero Smash Hits all have singing, along with both Rock Bands.
