i bricked this wii along time ago and need to know if any other way to fix it other than using an infectus, so here it goes

it's an korean wii it got bricked when i was installing preloader, forgot the version but i beleive it was an old version that not use ios236 to install. got the system menu and it's corresponding ios installed fine.. it just crash while installing preloader.

got the nand backup safe with me, not much use unless i got an infectus

what do you this guys? any alternatives?

I had the same brick.
Only I have a PAL wii.
when launching your wii, press reset imidietly.
preloader should boot up.
If thats's ok, run ModMii and download the 4.3 korean menu.
then launch preloader and launch wad manager via load file.
then install your system menu on some ios (I think 249 but not sure).
your wii now is not bricked.

No. Do not do that. That is a really bad idea.

@OP: Give me a second and I will write up some instructions.

1) Save this to the root of your SD card, then put the SD card in your Wii.
2) Try to get into Preloader/Priiloader. If you can the continue. If you can't, stop and tell me what appears on the screen.
3) Select Load/Install File and choose to load (not install) "sysCheck v2.1.0b7"
4) Scan all IOS's when sysCheck loads, then turn off your Wii when it's done.
5) Put the SD card back in your Wii and open SD:\syscheck.csv with WordPad. Copy and past the contents into a post on here. Please use spoiler tags.

If preloader crashed while installing you probably have a full brick. If preloader does not load you can not fix it without NAND reprograming. You could send it to someone, the price is not to much. If preloader loads you can fix it. You just need to install the correct system ios and system menu matching the current region settings of the wii, then install priiloadet.

What does the wii do when you turn it on? Black screen or error?

thanks for the replies.

haven't bothered checking if preloader was installed in the crashdownn and just gave my self a huge face plam. Gonna check it again if i can find where i packed it.

@ mauifrog
i think it was just a black screen

how much do you think this gonna cost me for repair?

anyway out of curiosity. can you force bootmii to use another nand backup? and why if you take the nand on wii (a) and put it on wii (b), turn it on and off then return it back to wii (a) it gets bricked but bootmii is still ok and have to reinstall some stuff to get it working again
