Can you tell me the exact model number of the HP pavilion dv5 laptop you got. I might be able to tell you the issue. I have a few dv5s and i can tell you that the dv5 was during hp's bad vista years. Most of the ones that fail are the AMD ones. The problem is they heat up and over time they fail.

You might have one of them shit HP's from the vista generation. Im very familiar with them. They all fail. the motherboards all go bad and they beep or have a sustained beep. A few of them give a sequence of blinking lights on the numlock and caps lock lite. that error code tells the error. The only fix is a new mother board.
The model is dv5 - 1045es I still can't believe that it died right in front of my face. :(

Good news! I got it into recovery mode by removing and cleaning all the parts, then putting them back again. I'm factory resetting now. Hopefully it boots now.

It works! Exept for the keyboard but at least it works!
