I have read several articles stating several different reasons and solutions but none have worked so far.
It's a 1st gen 20gb (switched to 160 right after I bought it when they first came out). No wifi.
It shuts down after just 2 or 3 seconds, I hear 3 beeps and the green light turns red.
Sometimes it stays running after 10-30 attempts.
I have had the entire system apart(apart again right now).
Doesn't stay on long enough to get hot enough for it to be an overheating issue.
With the lid off, I can hear the PS click off just before the beeps.
I have new thermal grease ordered, there is no dust buildup inside the unit. VERY CLEAN looks like new inside.
What do you think is causing this?
Bad PS? Is there a way to test with MM? readings?
NEC/Tokins? Any way to test these while still attached? Readings? Detached readings?
In need of heat gun reflow?
It seems like it is something else telling the PS to shut down.
I really want to fix this machine because I still have PS1, and PS2 games that I replay occasionally and this machine plays everything (PS1,PS2,PS3,CD,DVD,Blue Ray)
Thank you in advance for any (good) advice.
