Homebrew BootMii IOS for Startup?

I recently modded my friend's Wii by taking him up to 4.0U and installing PreLoader .30. However, he could not have BootMii installed as boot2. He would prefer to have BootMii setup as autoboot, but is it still as reliable as BootMii boot2? If I were to change his PreLoader settings to:

AutoBoot to: BootMii IOS
Return to: System Menu

Would he be able to use BootMii as if it were a boot2, or is the BootMii IOS not as functional? Will the NAND restore still work or not?

no, nothing is as good as bootmii as boot2.

if you uninstall your SM, SM IOS, or priiloader, your wii has no more brick protection.

Bootmii as an IOS is totally functional, but not as reliable as boot2.

Cool. Thanks. What I was wondering mostly is if PreLoader started with BootMii as IOS, if it would be the same as starting with BootMii as boot2. Is this the same aside from PreLoader coming first on startup?
