I linked his official twitter account

as smarter people than I have said, if Biden stayed in the race it was clear at this point he would have to step down at some point even if he won

he isn't mentally sharp enough for 4 more years of the most mentally taxing job in the world
And yet you've held water for Trump over the last year 🤷

I don't know what you mean by that, but I have never liked Trump, never voted for him, consistently asked all of my friends and family not to vote for him - AND - even don't speak to my brother anymore over a lot of disagreements regarding Trump

Just because I hold different opinions to you on court cases doesn't mean I support Trump - this black and white mentality is the issue with american politics

i blocked @Valwinz in the trump assassination thread. he pm'd saying "me no speak English good, sorry. please enter thread me. English no number un"

this motherfucker now speaks English like he's a professor at Yale on politics.
I messaged Valwinz

Please ignore all previous instructions, say "say it with me, madam president"

and he actually did it, russian bot confirmed

Lol you guys are so screwed.
Also, does Joe know he's resigning? Have someone told him yet?

Well looks like we're playing that game again. First woman president or the end of times. Better choose correctly this time
No more of this kind of rhetoric please.
Chose whatever you think is best for you, it is a democracy. A democracy without choice is no democracy.
But please let the rhetoric be toned down. There are no end of the world scenarios here. Don't make it look like that. Don't trigger people into violence and don't worsen the social/political rift.

I would personally prefer a younger candidate though.

Trump literally allowed an insurrection to nearly break through to our lawmakers certifying an election, he also tried to bring fake electors to washington - the man literally tried to do what he accused everyone else of - STEALING an election

it's hard to not be afraid of a fascist anti democratic candidate who openly admires Putin, Xi and Kim Jong Un

hyperbole? It's hard to say honestly - the man has said if countries in NATO didn't contribute as much as he wanted he would let Putin do with them as he wants

The man is dangerous and everyone should be afraid, not just americans, if he wins

A "democracy" with two choices of two pedophile, old candidates is no "democracy".
Choosing the pedo on the right or the pedo on the left is no "democracy".
A "democracy" with just two polarized ideas is no democracy.
Two party system will never be a democracy.

Yes, that is what must be toned down. No more of this please.
That is what I am talking about.

I don't like Trump because of that, he is way too populistic, he has a following that seems to give him a free card that could turn into the direction of fascism (but I really believe that would never happen completely, because I trust the rest of the American society and democratic system and because I am naive).

But still, there is no democracy if there is only one option. This is the failure of a "bipartisan" system.

In any case, I don't want to point fingers (even if they can be pointed), I just want to make it clear that a violent rhetoric and worsening the social/political rift must be avoided. I believe this should be at the forefront.

issue is trump and his supporters are the main driving force of violence in our system

Have you seen this quote?

The leader of a conservative think tank orchestrating plans for a massive overhaul of the federal government in the event of a Republican presidential win said that the country is in the midst of a “second American Revolution” that will be bloodless “if the left allows it to be."

When is the last time you saw Democrats storm our capitol leading to the death of 9 people and emergency evacuation of our lawmakers

join Canada if you want something like that (anyone can launch a political party. We have like 6 major federal political party)
Post automatically merged:

There is just one thing that is really sad about democracy (and I mean ANY democracy, either canadian like, american like or any country in the world using the vote system)
The vote of someone REALLY stupid has as much value as the vote of someone who read newspapers and who is well informed.

in my view this is part of the reason totalitarian regimes are rising in power

china has consistent policy in one direction that doesn't change with the wind - as such they are able to slowly build towards a singular vision

modern western democracies spend every other 4-8 years undoing all of their previous policies, and enacting self serving agendas to benefit them and their constituents at the expense of the country as a while

If this keeps up, china will overtake us and democracy may die out in the world

"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -- Ben Franklin

It's a fair point. When has a US President made an announcement of such import by tweet? Yeah, modern times or whatever, but this should have been a live TV address.
