Hacking Backups question

So, I've been off the site, and out of all the scenes, for forever. A couple deployments will do that to you

Anyway, I'm state side and finally got around to dusting off my my Wii and 360.
Long story short, I've updated my 360 to iXtreme 1.9, but wanted to start making backups (now I've got a dog and a little one).
I know I can reflash to 800 firmware and hook my 360's drive into my computer (holy hell 360USB makes that easy) but what program is the best for backing up?

Sorry, I need the program that goes from physical disc to iso file, or can I use any old DVD ripper?
Is there a specific '360 backup' program out there?

Imgburn can rip isos from a disc. It can also burn them on to backup disc. I've used it plenty of times.

Though if you want a specific one, there is Xbox360 Backup Creator.

New ripping firmware (and supporting programs) are being worked on right now. With these we will be able to rip the lastest disk format XDG3 and correct ap2.5 data (these are required to play the latest games) keep checking c4e's website http://c4evaspeaks.com/

I know, but I figure I might as well get my system set up before that point (flashing to newer is easy as pie)
Alright, so I've flashed to 800 fw and Imgburn recognizes the drive but it keeps giving read errors
