you can't use gateway to update 3ds nand to V4.5,
you have to use a V4.5 3DS games card to do it.
Such as the Donkey Kong Country Returns 3DS, it is a V4.5 firmware game,

I think you could use a Gateway with a old launcher to update

yeah but that only works if you have never used 2.1+, once you update the fpga, you cant use the 1.0launcher any more

i tried didn't work, gamesquest1 is right once fpga is applied you can't use old launcher to update via gateway.
