anyone know of any good rpgs to try and which ones to avoid

    anyone know of any worthwhile rpgs to give ago and ones not worth playing at all (oh and no final fantasy or any compile i just dont care for the series and i already know i hate compiles games so yeah XD)

    As for the ones to avoid...anything not on that list...perhaps?

    if it is a japanese game with randomly triggered encounters, then avoid it like the plague.

    Personally, I might avoid certain games with visible enemies too. Persona 3 and 4 are part of the same series as Persona 1 and 2 which do have random encounters, and those games are still on the PSP/Vita store and regularly receive sales.

    2. mainly action rpgs i dont mind some turn based though

    4.im keeping it a secret i want some creative answers ill tell you if i own it or not ^^

    persona 3 ive already played the visible enemies dont bother me i usually can avoid them easily so yeah

    i ment i wanna try new rpgs i havent played -.-

    dungeon crawler: legend of grimrock (pc)
    srpg: valkyria chronicles (ps3,psp), Xcom (pc), disgaea serie (ps2, ps3, psp, ds), arc the lad (ps2)
    jrpg: dragon quest 8(ps2), okage (ps2), shadow hearts: covenant(ps2), suikoden 3 (ps2)
    arpg: gothic 1&2 (pc), the elder scrolls series (pc), path of exile (pc), mass effect, borderlands, dead island, demon soul/dark soul
    D&D rpg: neverwinter nigts (pc) dragon age origins, baldus's gate (pc)

    I recommend Bastion, Earthbound, Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pokemon, Zelda 2, Lunar: The Silver Star (or any of its remakes), Lunar: Magic School, Transistor, and Mario & Luigi for GBA.

    Those are just off the top of my head. You might want to define your request a bit more.

    You probably have played all of the good RPGs.
    I guess you should try Neptunia and Rune Factory.
    Rune Factory is good, idk about neptunia but that's again my opinion.
    Maybe you won't like it.

    how come no one has named Tales of (insert name)??
    the only one I have completed ATM is Tales of Xillia and it was excelent, I'm playing through Debt Simulator 2014 Xillia 2 now and is as excelent as the first but with more battle elements and a crafting system for items and equip.
    I played and never finished Tales of Destiny on PS1, marvelous game, just that at the time my english wasn't that good and got stuck.
    also have Tales of Innocence unfinished, it was really good but soon after starting playing got flooded of games and ended up pausing it. now I'm waiting for Tales of Hearts R to be successful on USA to encourage Bamco to bring Innocence R too.
