Erm...perhaps this thread has some good ones to try?

(how could you not see this thread...you only made it two days ago)

As for the ones to avoid...anything not on that list...perhaps?

if it is a japanese game with randomly triggered encounters, then avoid it like the plague.

Personally, I might avoid certain games with visible enemies too. Persona 3 and 4 are part of the same series as Persona 1 and 2 which do have random encounters, and those games are still on the PSP/Vita store and regularly receive sales.

You could probably go through your old thread and find the games that fit your criteria.

I recommend Bastion, Earthbound, Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pokemon, Zelda 2, Lunar: The Silver Star (or any of its remakes), Lunar: Magic School, Transistor, and Mario & Luigi for GBA.

Those are just off the top of my head. You might want to define your request a bit more.

You probably have played all of the good RPGs.
I guess you should try Neptunia and Rune Factory.
Rune Factory is good, idk about neptunia but that's again my opinion.
    Maybe you won't like it.

how come no one has named Tales of (insert name)??
the only one I have completed ATM is Tales of Xillia and it was excelent, I'm playing through Debt Simulator 2014 Xillia 2 now and is as excelent as the first but with more battle elements and a crafting system for items and equip.
I played and never finished Tales of Destiny on PS1, marvelous game, just that at the time my english wasn't that good and got stuck.
also have Tales of Innocence unfinished, it was really good but soon after starting playing got flooded of games and ended up pausing it. now I'm waiting for Tales of Hearts R to be successful on USA to encourage Bamco to bring Innocence R too.
