K. I turned 18 some time ago (u no gan 2 stalk mi, foolz)

And I've been putting off getting a job. Under 18, around here, you have two options: Fast food or Grocery store.

But Radio Shack is about... A 7 minute drive from my house/my school.

And it's electronical, so I guess that's a win.

But as far as that, I know nothing about it. I could count the number of times I've been in the store in my life on one hand.

I'd try gamestop, but you only hear evil about them. "RESERVE THIS NOW."
Or at least that's what I hear. Can't trust nothin' you hear these days D:

Any of you work at Radio Shack?

No, but from what I gather, 90% of your day would be helping morons who need a specific kind of battery but aren't sure of what kind. "You know, one of those little ones, with a '+' on it".

Which would be cool.

Edit: and anyway, it's better than my H.S. job which was cleaning a gym locker room where there were fat hairy blindingly white pot-bellies everywhere and that nasty locker room smell and fools that would clean their nose in the shower by using a "Kansas Kleenex". Damn.

Pre-ordering was a bit nuts but I somehow got two orders lined up. Walmart went live early with a queue system that was actually extremely stable and I was able to snag one for shipping, no in-store pickup.

Target.com went down immediately but the app was up for a little longer before going down and a couple of friends managed to snag pre-orders there, but it was $10 extra for release day shipping also with no local pickup.

Don't give up on the Best Buy line! I waited for 35 minutes before the page automatically refreshed and asked me to re-login, I thought I was done for but after I re-logged back in it took me immediately to checkout with 10 minutes to complete the purchase.

Best Buy local pickup is what I was going for so I'm glad it panned out. I had some rewards certificates waiting to be used and got some money back on my Best Buy credit card. Gotta get me that midnight pickup!

@TeconMoon walmart keeps going in and out of stock. I'm worried about ordering 1 more and having cancellation since I already ordered 1 tho
  • realtimesave @ realtimesave:
@TeconMoon I got booted out of the best buy line in one of my browsers dunno what's up with that
  • realtimesave @ realtimesave:
@TeconMoon what do you plan on doing with the 2nd unit? family member? resale?

I think people are disliking the idea of jumping social media sites over politics
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Well, I do find that silly.

I try to explain social media is what you make of it but people always jump ship with hatred for politics based off it

    So is 4chan oh wait
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
@Skelletonike bluesky claims to be decentralized like mastodon, problem is that for some reason they decided to create their own protocol for that, I've not seen a single other instance using it
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Yeah, 4chan was a bit sus... Probability of finding a trap when clicking on something was... Too high.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Well... When it comes down to, it's all for money.
  • SillyBee @ SillyBee:
What is hilarious is that a lot of old 4chan users used to complain it became really mainstream lmao
