I just got a mint DSi on 1.4.3A.

Is there any reason to stay on 1.4.3A if I plan on running Hiya?

Is it even possible to update to the latest these days? I thought the servers were gone.

I updated mine in March 2019 to 1.45 E : and i have HiyaCFW , ;) so you can hack your DSI if you want...

But i think it's useless to update ( just system will block more flashcarts )

Do as you want. The servers are still up -- only buying new DSiWare has been disabled.
There is not much to gain by newer versions.

The only reasons I can think of is accessing the (defunct) shop for:
  • Unlocking data management in System Settings which will not show up if a DSi never accessed the shop
  • Re-downloading DSiWare that was either paid or downloaded for free while possible (e.g. Flipnote Studio)
There are no real downsides in updating either as CFW will unblock flashcarts.

Thanks guys, so I guess it doesn't really matter either way.

I was worried I might have missing out on some "stability" if I didn't update to 1.4.5 :)

Is there a way to unlock Data Management via the CFW? I checked this DSi and it's not there. I can see it on my DSi XL, that I did use on the shop years ago.
I already have Flipnote Studio on this DSi, not that it really matters now. Did some come preinstalled with it?

Almost every DSi xl and all the console with 1.4 few were released with flipnote, anyways, with cfw data management isn't even that needed, as you can just delete the dsiware from your SD and it'll be deleted from the emunnd as well
