Anti-ad/popup program?

I use Norton at the moment but I'm planning to use something less CPU heavy, but AVG or avast don't have the adblock nor the popup blocker Norton has, so does anyone know a good program I can use? (I use IE by the way so don't tell me about Firefox plugins because I know those exist)

There's an older program called proxomitron. It's fairly complicated to set up and get going, but it is top-notch for blocking ads/popups/whatever.

I used to have a plugin for firefox... these days I don't think I use a plugin, I forget. Actually I'm having issues with firefox atm seeking my floppy drive when I try to download a file.
