[*]Many larger stores don't even check to see if the system boots before trade-in. Like hell will they do anything special to check hidden logs. In addition the logs could take up a lot of space, and Nintendo like to keep their systems cheap.

[*]Total bullshit, will not happen, end of story. Nintendo has no legal right to do that and would get sued out the ass.

[*]The third rumor is the only one with any credibility.

If this is true, why haven't we seen it with people using DS flashcarts? Even when they were blocked no one reported anything like this.

There is already one reason why I doubt this and it is that it kills your system? People can't buy
future games on it and they wouldn't want to spent another $250.

Edit: Doesn't even sound like Nintendo.

Doubt it really Nintendo would just update firmware to block pirates not go to this extent.

1)Who cares...I don't trade my shit back to retailers anyway. et more money selling it yourself

2)Totally rumor....Nintendo ain't trying to be Sony

3)I could see that happening

The log would simply display the icon/name of whatever game's header appears when you put your flashcart into the 3DS. Fish master, Danny Phantom, Juju whatever.... whatever.

You can also delete games from your log.

Here's an interesting bunch of rumors for you guys. While we already know that various flash carts work on the 3DS when playing DS games, it seems like that might have been planned from the beginning. Rumor has it that the 3DS can actually keep a log of activity that will make note of whether a flash cart was used or not. Furthermore, retailers will be able to check this log, and if they see pirate activity they will not be able to do a trade-in.

That's not even the worst part. We're also hearing that the 3DS will see an update that will block the system from booting up if you've used a flash cart. In other words, if you're playing a pirated game, Nintendo could send out an update that kills your system! Finding a workaround for that might be a bit tough, and quite bothersome as well.

Finally, the last rumored update is one that pertains to curse words on the 3DS. As you know, the system currently accepts curse words and other dirty language when it comes to naming things on the 3DS. It seems that an update is on the way to squash that kind of activity. Thanks to Ruf for the heads up!
Most likely BS, but I can wait a couple of months just to be certain.

A pirate knows that the first two rumors are BS, but most of the people at gonintendo don't see why Nintendo can't do this, funny.
Rumor #3, well this is something Nintendo must do sooner or later.

A reasonable non-pirate knows that they aren't right.

+1. This has got to be one of the lamest things ever passed off as news. There is absolutely no chance Nintendo is going to brick people for using flash carts, imagine the PR nightmare. The worst they'll ever do is ban from online and refuse repair service.

OK, but still, no one at gonintendo sees why Nintendo can't do this.
They're all like, take that pirates.
