AMD is reportedly preparing a media event next Monday, December 5th, to present their next-gen 28nm GPUs - to be branded Radeon HD 7000 series. While this is not going to be a release day, more information about the much anticipated HD 7000 is expected to finally be presented to the media.

Nice, nice! I'm gonna love this new gen of GPU cards. AMD is supposedly gonna introduce XDR2 on their new high tier cards, which will produce new incredible results in memory bandwidth and speed.

I hope so, I've been stuck with this 2600 XT HD for quite sometime due to money issues, since I just started a after school job I plan on saving up for this :)

Is this the same series that the wii u will be using?
How can an existing system (even if it's not for sale it's being developed on) use cards that aren't out?
I didn't know why I post that since I just look up it is using last gen radeon for now...
and don't know much about these chips as I want to.

I guess I just felt a push to be part of the discussion. :P

Your probably thinking of the R770, which is the chipset the Wii U supposedly uses.
The R770 chipset is used in the Radeon 4730, 4830, 4850, and 4870, though Nintendo's version with be optimised to give better results.

EDIT: Thanks Joe88.

I'll wait to see the Nvidia equivalent. I have had too much trouble with Radeon cards and drivers.
