Basically it's the way AKAIO and the Off.FW look.The text and menu's are really different.When you go to your cheats in AKAIO you can see the description instead of a cut off one.AKAIO supports the AKRPG also. AKAIO has faster directory loading(like WAY faster).AKAIO has WiFi update,and it also has a better compatibility with those games that the Off.FW didn't fix(bleach dark souls).
The Official FW does what AKAIO does but crappier and has a lot less features and fewer updates.
