Excellent work though. I probably didn't update my cart since before custom firmwares were even out (that includes the ones that just add 3 in 1 support). Now updating to this just seems amazing.

scrap that, after switching back to official then loading custom on, everything seems to work fine.

final edit: it seems AK AIO is causing me these problems, after switching back to official firmware -> bliss it works fine but the official firmware -> AK AIO screws it up. this is what i get on the screen when i try to load AKAIO

I get the same thing (blue screen of death) on my 2 gb partroit card, would freeze. It half works on my 4 gig patroit sdhc card. Top screen is blue but I can launch roms okay. I believe it has to do with the skins not loading correctly.

Deleted all skin files, and still get the blue screen. Going back to bliss firmware until this gets fixed.


Just figured out why people are the the blue screen. Its the sd card brand not being recongize correctly. I copy the firmware on to my 1 gig ultra2 scandisk and the firmware runs fine. I tested on my 2 gig patriot and 4 gig sdhc patriot, firmware crashes (blue screen).

I hope this gets fixed.

I know you guys don't get this enough, Smiths, so great job and keep those spirits high. Although I don't use my DS that much anymore at all I still come by to check stuff out here and I wanted to say thanks for putting the time into this thing. It looks great. I'm gonna have to dust off my DS and AK RPG to give this guy a go. Thanks.

Aren't the coloured screen/freezes caused by the skin? I have had a few times where my globalsettings.ini randomly reverted back to referring to a deleted skin but just editing it to the right one let me carry on.
Worth a try - been a while since it happened to me but sounds the same.
Would get blue top screen and if tried to press 'start' it froze, i think i could load roms though with 'a'.

Could that skin problem be caused by the fact that you dont have the zelda theme?

nope. when you d/l AKAIO or any firmware, it comes with the zelda theme. the basic ones are adv.evo, black and zelda i think.

just peeped inside the zip and there is no globalsettings.ini file? i'm used to seeing this inside the official and bliss' firmwares why none here?
Difference between the rpg and ak2 or something?

Guess just copy over from my ak2 and use the edited one but what about first timers?
Could this be a cause of someones problems if they use it without the file as no references to skins are made?


edit: never mind its autogenerated when you first run.
just gave it a try and seems to work on ak2 with non-sdhc card for me anyway.

The globalsettings.ini file is created with the default settings, the first time you launch akaio

It does, I'm using AKAIO with my Kingston 4 GB (Taiwan) class 4 and I have no troubles at all.

I've formatted mine to FAT 16 if that matters...
