I was having the same exact problem that other guy was. I changed the option in "globalsettings.ini" to "black" and deleted all of the other skins, as I initially did. I got the same thing when I first tried it because I had deleted the "Zelda" skin (I had assumed it would use the "black" skin by default"). After re-installing that skin, it worked fine. So I suspect that the blue screen with the freezing "start" menu has something to do with it not finding the skin.
