Hacking akaio + r4ultra

i noticed akaio 1.8.5a is available for DL; i'm curious to know if i can extract and overwrite the files on my sd card with the new ones or do i have to wait till they upload a copy to r4ultra.com?

The latest AKAIO will not work on R4 Ultra and there will not be an update for the AKAIO R4Ultra (last I checked)

Does AKAIO work on the R4 Ultra?
A single 1-off build of AKAIO v1.8.1 was compiled by Normmatt for the R4 Ultra by request of Team Acekard (the developers of the R4 Ultra). This is currently the only build adapted to work on the R4 Ultra, future releases will not work without much manipulation by Normmatt. Support for the R4 Ultra has not been added into AKAIO and is not planned for the future.

Anyway, usually there's a reason for everything. And I really hope there's a real reason for this.

You know, this Ultra sticker looked quite nice. And the case felt... different... quite good somehow...

But: It's not an Acekard.
