Think about it, an Advance Wars game that is based on the middle ages. Are there any tools that exist that would allow me to do this on my own, or possibly an already made game? I could think of it now, although of course there would be no aerial units.
Here are some units that would have the names and sprites changed.

Infantry - Apprentice
Mech - Knight
Small Tank - Small Siege Castle
Med Tank - Med Siege Castle
War Tank - Siege Castle of War
Missiles - Flaming Catapult
Anti Tank - Flamethrower (Yes, flamethrower. Look it up!)
Ranger - Cavalry
Flare - Torchbearer
Artillery - Catapult

Im sure im missing some things (Naval units mostly), but im just using these as a basic layout.

I used to hang out a lot at WWN - yeah, all the AW games have been hacked - and it's quite easy in comparison to other games. I'd say DoR is the easiest IMO (the hardest part is the units, though)

You found the Map Header location in DoR Kosheh?

map header's at the beginning of .map files lol

j/k, i dunno but

I was speaking mostly about the other aspects, RadioShadow - of course with the knowledge out there AW2's the easiest to make into a completely new game; but in comparison to Dual Strike, Days of Ruin seems much easier to work with.

What about Fire Emblem?

Strikes me as something so basic. If there was some sort of tool you could probably map a level in around a minute, add monsters and set the event type in another minute and then just change script/character names/character sprites, and then there you have it, infinite Fire Emblem campaigns.
