So I found this while searching up SNES Earthbound on ebay, and, well....

http://cgi.ebay.com/Earthbound-Zero-Earth-...3#ht_2702wt_230

..... There's just no way, is there? I mean, the game is literally unreleased, so how can this guy have it? Hell, the only way it got DUMPED was because someone put a BETA cart up for sale.

I dunno. The retrofag in me is screaming right now, and it looks authentic. I don't know what to make of it. What do you guys think?

It's hard to say if it's real or not. Hard to trust Ebay nowadays.

There are only 5 prototypes know to exist, and NoA has one of them. The cart that was dumped cost 400$, so I doubt this guy is selling 1 of the 4 real carts for 30$.

I see. That pretty much confirms it then. Puts my mind at ease.

Again, the auction description clearly says "REPRODUCTION." Why is no one else seeing this?

Yeah, the last time one of those prototypes went on ebay I almost got it. Seems like someone was a bit more avid than I am.

If it is a fake, would trying to sell it, regardless if he created it, be copyright infringement?

I think so; it sounds like the same thing as selling a burnt DVD.

Nintendo tries to keep their 'failed' productions hidden as best as possible. This is PROBABLY fake.

In a sense, the guy could have worked at Nintendo and got the beta. But, probably not. :\

Edit: This could be another NES game that has an EarthBound sticker on it. There are really good professionals out there.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
