You read it right, the Mega Man interactive movie game for PlayStation, released in Japan only. For how dark the storyline can be, the game is still fantastic - great voice acting (nothing compared to MM8's awful English voices), endless and suspenseful action, typical anime cutscenes, and Electrical Communication.

I don't care if Keiji Inafune hates this game, I would love to see a fan translation patch of it.

Have you ever played (or rather watched) this game? Tell about it here.

I watched a very good lets play of it a few years back. I can't find it again though. The person who did it overlayed the text with english and only talked during the battles so that you could fully enjoy the FMV. Being a huge Mega Man fan, I always wanted to play it, but since it's mostly FMV anyways, watching the lets play scratched the itch. I'd still love to play it if it ever gets translated though!

Also, Electrical Communication slaps, and the intro FMVs are very much worth a watch on their own.

Edit: Electrical Communication was also used as the opening for the Japanese version of Rockman 8, and I found an extended subtitled version you might enjoy.

There's a more recent playthrough by NintendoComplete that has English translated text overlapping some texts in the menus, as well as over the blue box at the bottom of the screen, used for multiple answer choices, during the cutscenes.

Anybody who will ever want to tackle this game for translation should program a dialogue system in the game that pretty much works like subtitles, so that blue box will also act as a dialogue box. Dubbing could also be a valid alternative, but is much more problematic as you'd have to bring in voice actors to dub the characters' voices into English.
