Don't know if this has been suggested before but oh well...

Would it be possible to add the option to lock your own blogs or threads (threads outside the trading section)? Sometimes they get derailed or at other times they can be bumped after a very long time for no reason. Say you make a blog, there are a lot of comments underneath, you get the option to lock it before it goes too haywire. Or if you make a thread asking for help, you can lock it when it's been resolved, preventing pointless bumps by random people. Having the option to lock without bothering mods with constant reports if things go bad or whatever can help keep things clean and proper.

Nah, those reports are not affecting us mods at all. Besides, that power would be abused.
Also, if you have a problem and got help... Why lock it? What if someone else needs help with the same problem, but the solution doesn't work for them?

If the same solution doesn't work for everyone, then that's not the same problem, it's a similar one. Also, I'm referring to things like threads asking for something in a game too (eg: Pokemon) and having the ability to lock it once that's done. It's not as much as to moderate yourself as much as it is to keep things clean. In case some thread goes wild, it's not very good to see like half the posts deleted, is it? As for blogs, same, when the cancer starts to spread, you stop it right there. No need for reports. I get what you mean, some people may abuse it, but it could potentially be a good thing if used properly and in moderation.
