If we set this up, can we update games thru the internet?

Or, do games still have to be manually updated via downloaded file?

this is blocking connections to Nintendo's servers. You can't update if you do this, but you don't WANT to connect to Nintendo's servers if you're hacking your Switch.

Last time I checked, it works. You can use 90DNS Tester app if you'd like to confirm.
I'd suggest setting up DNS MITM instead (or as well?).

EDIT: Or you can use 90DNS Setter app for setting 90DNS for all Wi-Fi networks.
