Yeah this isn't news, it's been out since about 2 hours after the update launched. If you guys already have 2.4 or whatever version you're still running, hold X to force the Selector to search for updates. It'll find 11.3 support on 2.5 right away.
smea is the one working on it, he said it's more involved than he expected, he's already got a workaround in progress for N3DS users, but this one won't work for O3DS/2DS users. He's still working on it, or at least he would be if he didn't have to work. He'll most likely work his butt off tonight to get it up. If not tonight, then something is seriously hardcore about this update and it could take a while, but I wouldn't expect more than a week, even if it's serious business.
So will a version possibly come out for O3DS/2DS

About the FTP Servers;
Could it be that the old 3ds's wifi communicatior (or whatever they call it now a days.) Is different from the New 3DS's?

Maybe the 3DS's CPU (on an old 3ds.) Cannot support FTPDB? Like, maybe the CPU might not be able to handle the transfering of files with File Zilla (or whatever other FTP service for PC.) wirelessly?

That's just my guess becuase my new 3ds works just fine. Haven't tested it out on an old 3ds

microSD Management didn't work for me at all, no matter what I tried.
I'm using FTPD (https://github.com/mtheall/ftpd/releases/latest) + WinSCP as a client, no issues so far. I heard FileZilla is also good.
You can also connect through Windows explorer but for me it was kinda sluggish and it always took ages to close FTPD after transferring files.
That's exactly what I use and it works great.

Oh absolutely, I mean...I think. I don't know why it wouldn't. It should be just fine, but just backup your NAND before updating, just in case. He just has to go about it differently for O3DS/2DS. They just crash on Soundhax, apparently N3DS do something different. I don't know everything about it, but I don't pretend to. Just follow smea on twitter for more info.

I've already updated before backing my NAND but I do have a NANDmin.bin file I backed up when I first installed CFW

Then you should be fine, I can't guarantee anything, but assuming it's a functioning NAND dump, it should be fine. You just need to remember you need to keep an updated one on hand, I suggest having 2 on hand. One from when you see an update is out and you dump the second latest version, and one from before that, just so you have a backup...backup? Can't hurt to have more. I'd suggest you keep them in multiple places too. Dropbox and PC is a good idea. You could keep them on the SD/MicroSD but that's 1.21GB on N3DS per NANDmin which can build up if you're on a smaller card. I'd suggest a 64GB MicroSD Samsung Evo (use an adapter if on 2DS/O3DS)

To add, you're going to lose any changes you made to your system after that last dump. So you'll have to reinstall games and apps etc.....

Well if it looks like it is going to take a while I wouldn't be surprised if a patch is added to Luma to make the old payloads work by undoing Ninty's gspwn fix just like they fixed the anti-downgrade check (so yes, if you have Luma you can downgrade from 11.3 to 11.2 using sysupdater) and svcbackdoor.

How is that helpful anyway when CFW requires a downgrade that can't be done on 11.3 without *hax" already installed. Then you can just restore a backup from 11.2.... I guess it's useful for people who want to go back without a backup, but what use is that with A9lH+Luma anyway?

It isn't that useful anymore but it used to be useful for downgrading your emunand from 10.1/10.2 to 2.1 before you ran otphelper to verify your 2.1 emuand and flash it to sysnand. Of course, that was before the ctrnand transfer method was developed. But the option is still there for those that updated to 11.3 without making a backup and want to go back to 11.2.

Yeah but considering HomeBrew is the only thing broken, that will only be necessary for like another few days at most. Still good to know though JIC.

So... just to clear this up my NANDmin.bin that I made when I installed CFW will be on 11.2 and if I put it in my SD card it will be back on 11.2
(Once again I'm a noob.)

Yeah, well @ProjectZ83 mentioned not having an 11.2 backup and wanting to go back. So he can just use sysupdater to downgrade after making a backup of his current 11.3 sysnand.

You will be on whatever your system was on when you made the nandmin.bin backup. However in your case you might want to use the sysupdater cia to downgrade to 11.2 after making a backup. Then you shouldn't lose anything.

EDIT - Be sure to make a backup before downgrading, there is always a risk of a brick when downgrading and if you don't have a current backup then that could be a problem. Especially if it turns out the Luma anti-dg fix isn't enough on 11.3.

Whoever you saw that from is giving misinformation. You shouldn't really have followed a video tutorial either. Just update your version of Luma3DS and give it an update! :P

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

so i update luma then use system settings update correct?
