Of course it wont work. They upped the minimum NFIRM version allowed by NS: https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/11.3.0-36#NS
You can downgrade your NFIRM if you want but the system software will refuse to load.... ┬┴┬┴┤( ͡° ͜ʖ‌├┬┴┬┴
yhea...that's why...
But I was thinking...does the NS check the version only before loading home menu, or in all cases?
Because, if we can launch something before the check...
Do you know the button sequence unsed by 2DSsaver? That can load a cartridge before the initial setup? If the NS doesn't check the version when launching a cartridge in that way...

Why do you want to downgrade if you're on 11.2 with A9LH + Luma...?

But he wants to play online which requires 11.3, but he doesn't have Homebrew access on 11.3 because HBL doesn't work until an update is released. What I want to know is why do you need Homebrew access? If you have FBI you can install most apps you run in HBL as a CIA to your system anyway. Surely FBI still works on 11.3?

Well online in game will continue to work on 11.2 until the update becomes forced, which is normally like a week. Otherwise they can stay on 11.2 and use httpwn to bypass the update nag. The only things they can't use (without httpwn) is Pokebank, eShop, Miiverse etc

@StandardBus PLEASE take the 11.3 stuff out, several people have confirmed this not working and you WILL brick people. Please, moderators, take the post down so people won't brick.
You should have an hardmod to use this...You should have made a nand backup to use this...
People won't automatically brick.

wait how can u play online on 9.2?
There is no reason to be on 9.2. I guess you could try ctr-httpwn with homebrew, but you need an entrypoint for 9.2 as well like Soundhax or something and the correct payload. Although like I said, if you have a backup from 11.2 you can restore that with Hourglass9/D9 and you can still use online in games without doing anything else (until the update becomes forced). You can also use ctr-httpwn on 11.2 to access eShop etc.

you can use ctr httpwn on 11.2?

I just tried for giggles and got an error. But like I said, you don't need it on 11.2 to get online in game until the update becomes forced. Besides, HBL should be updated in a few days and it won't be necessary to stay on 11.2 anyway.

EDIT: It works fine on 11.2. I had the L2 cache enabled which was giving me an error.

Sorry to everyone, fortunately this hasn't caused bricks on any 3DS (the Autofirm did a nand backup for each nand.bin that has applied the patch on, so you can unbrick anytime restoring the backup_nand.bin file via hardmod).
I should have made more tests before publishing it.
I'm really sorry.

EDIT: First post reverted to 11.2b release.

Back in the days of gateway when we couldn't get emunand to work past 9.5 there was still a way to play online games. You had to install a .cia package of the update for the game you wanted to play online in. Would this still work today ? If not then why?

Edit: could you do this by going into freeshop on 11.2 and make sure all games have their update installed?
