Mine are the economy and the border. Education as a third.

If you vote in 2024, what are the key issues that will motivate which candidate you support?

Please discuss the actual ISSUES, and don't turn this into just bashing people. Attack their ideas, certainly. But this topic is about the issues, not the politicians.

What is the most important issue for you and your vision for a better America?

We already know a reasonable or intelligent discussion with the OP isn't going to be possible so I'll just mention that in this post to save everyone time.
Thank you for going off-topic and starting off with personal attacks, Stan.

Now run along. You got it off your chest. Find a new obsession.

K I'll play for a bit.

Real answer, to stop Republicans at all cost by voting Democrat as they turned this country to shit from 2016-2020 and we're just now seeing normalcy again despite all of their attempts to block any price gouging, their attacks on the LGBTQ community, and their attack on reproductive rights. Not to mention the Republicans won't do anything for climate change and continue to push for tax breaks for the ultra wealthy.

To vote for a Republican in 2024 is no different than voting for a Nazi and their actions have proved this. Neither Trump or DeSantis have denounced the presence of KKK members or Nazis at their various rallies and this should legit be concerning to everyone.

I see no reason to different Nazis, KKK, members, proud boys, MAGAs and anyone who would vote for a Republican given their current state.

I know Walter will just respond with a laugh emoji, and I've already posted proof of my claims specifically to his previous posts in previous threads but he wanted an answer.

Nope. You answered the question with an almost intelligent answer. You have to get over your bias, man. We don't like each other, but that doesn't mean we can't try to understand the other.

You don't make peace with your friends. Only your enemies. You don't need to find common agreement with people who already agree with you.

But, you haven't described any ISSUES. Just "I am voting for anything that isn't Republican, because I hates them, hates them, hates them forever, Precious!". You also did exactly what I asked everyone NOT to do, which is to attack a person, and not an idea.

Which ISSUES are key for you, and are motivating your vote?

I just want somebody who actually cares about what they think is best for the country and not vote for what their party wants them to. This seems to be a rather rare thing nowadays though...

Reading comprehension isn't your strength. They clearly stated LGBTQ rights, reproductive rights, climate action, and implied strengthening lower and middle classes rather than the upper class among others mentioned. We are past the point of playing nice. When an entire party pushes a platform calling for erasure of a minority group (LGBTQ folks) we are done politely debating. It is perfectly valid to draw parallels to the Nazi agenda.

No. He invoked Godwin's Law, and just bashed Trump. He didn't discuss any issues.

Remember that the Democrats are the socialists. Remember that "Nazi" stands for "National Socialist".

Just educating you, since your reading comprehension isn't your strongest virtue.

Which ISSUES are motivating your vote? Not "which candidate do you hate". Which ISSUES matter to you the most in this upcoming election?

Just TRY to have a civil discussion for once. See if you guys can do this without ad hominem or attacking and insulting people personally. If you can't do that, why even bother engaging on this topic?

i havent thought about it
That's the topic of discussion, here. Candidates will say anything they have to, to get your vote.

I think it's more important to know where you stand on major issues that impact the nation, and that your vote reflects that.

The economy affects EVERYONE, and it's pretty terrible right now. Insane inflation, insane energy cost increases, and a dollar today is worth 83 cents compared to a year ago. That's why the economy is my number one issue. I think we will solve a lot of the problems we have in America once we reel in inflation, lower the cost of energy production and distribution, and give people some breathing room with their budgets.

My primary issue is that the modern Republican party seems to have lost its marbles entirely. At least before Trump came along the party served the interests of the wealthy, so one could argue they had an ideology. Now Trump has converted it into some sort of a weird anti-democratic, anti-education, anti-science, anti-social progress, pro-Putin, lawless cult.

So without any issues considered at all, democrats get my vote by default.

I guess the responses are kind of illustrating in broad detail why no one can come together on anything, or even find any common ground to agree on.

If people can't even describe ONE key issue that matters to them, in favor of just bashing a politician, or a political party, what hope could we possibly have for compromise?

I am GENUINELY trying to find some sort of common agreement that most of us share. Hating one person, or hating a political party, doesn't leave any room for an actual discussion to occur.

Which is why I asked about ISSUES. Not PEOPLE. Not PARTIES.

If neither Republicans or Democrats ever existed, you would still have issues that are important to you, and things that matter the most to you in your life, that the government WILL have some kind of involvement in.

THAT is what I am interested in learning more about. We know that you hate Trump and that you consider all Republicans to be Nazis. Message received. Repeating it at this point is simply redundant and pedantic. No sense in belaboring a point you've already made over and over.

Now, what about the ISSUES?

They have described issues. They just aren't important enough to you to consider them issues.

Wow.

Does ANYONE have an issue that they care about, besides "WE HATE TRUMP"?
They have described issues. They just aren't important enough to you to consider them issues.
No. They haven't. Not one of them has. Literally all of it has been just insulting strawmen Republicans, imaginary Nazis, and hating Donald Trump.

The closest anyone came to responding was my Stan, and instead of ennumerating issues that he cared about, he just went off on a meltdown about why he hates Republicans. He made a lot of accusations, but didn't say anything about issues that were important TO HIM. WITHOUT having to mention a political party or a politician.

If you believe in something, then it doesn't matter what other people believe or do. It's YOUR belief. That is why I was asking people about what was personally important to them.

Being motivated by hatred isn't healthy. It solves nothing. That's why I am trying to have a discussion like this.

I bet we could find common ground, if we tried. If certain people could let their hate boner subside, just a little bit.

If certain folks could see others as people, just as valid as them. Can we try that?
