Which should I use? Can I use v1.4 which has soft reset? And so do I have to use the flasher for dsi? Oh and can I boot the flash file for ak2i through akaio or do I have to use official firmware?

what? Use 1.4.1 Repack. And use the loaders from 5/30. And if you have a DSi then update the Acekard with the 1.4 update.

I have AKAIO v1.4.1 repack and soft reset works fine. Just dont updat your loaders.
And remember to ENABLE it in system settings because it is disabled by default
