hey, i wanted to play 3ds games on my switch, i have retroarch but everytime i try to put the ultramoon rom on my sd card it says that the file is too large for the destination file system... i know its because u cant put files on a fat 32 sd card bigger than 4gb but how would i put in on the sd card then? thanks in advance <3
Interesting…according to this thread https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/997614-nintendo-3ds/76654492 this game is one of the largest game in the 3ds catalog, but it’s supposed to be only 3.6G which shouldn’t be a problem. How large is the file you have?

e: even Ninty says it’s only 3.5G https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/pokemon-ultra-moon-3ds/

its exactly 4gb.

Problem nr. 2:
ive tried another game ( pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity) which is smaller. I got it on the sd but retroarch wont run it. When i scanned the directory it found the game but didnt make a 3ds folder for it... it says "the game you are trying to load must be decrypted before using it with Citra" but it is already decrypted

I can’t link here but I’ve found several that are smaller than 4G.
Not sure on the state of the decrypted file.

Perhaps you can try another site for ROMs?

hey I also got a problem after trying to update my switch to the latest firmware + atmo.
I used the AIO updater for atmo and it worked, after that I used it for the normal firmware and it rebooted back to heka, there I chose the third option "payload" and used "fuse", after that the console did not boot anymore. I tried to restart etc. but no luck. Any ideas?

Edit: after putting it into the docking station and try to boot it again, I get a new error "[NXBOOT] unable to identify package1!

Something got borked. Going to have to walk through it manually. This should fix you right up.

All you do is download Atmosphere, put it on the SD card, then rename your bootloader of choice to payload.bin and place it on the root of the SD card. My personal recommendation is to download Atmosphere from here as it will not only give you the CFW but any additional homebrew apps you may want and download Hekate from here as the bootloader of choice.
so do all oleds models need chips to cfw ?
Yes.

Yes.
Thank you very much, do we need to partition the SD card etc like on the V1?

I would like to extract a game update from my clean sysmmc (using NxNandManager) without any cfw and then install the update to my emummc.

How can I do this? In NxNandManager, I found several .nca files (meta, program, manual, control) for my game, but which of them will I need to install the update? And how will I be able to install these files to my emummc? Should I convert them somehow to nsp?
