Thank you for the help so far. I appreciate it. Let me know if I got this correct. I can update my firmware of EmuMMC ONLY without touching sysMMC which should allow me to play Diamond and Pearl remakes?Far as I know there is no downsides about updating the firmware, only if you use SXOS which doesn't support newer firmwares. on Atmosphere, you can use almost any firmware you like without problems, do not forget update the sigpatches BEFORE update the firmware, that's all.
emuMMC can be used to run higher firmware versions without updating the actual firmware of your console or act as a brick shield. Its not mandatory to use an emuMMC and its also never too late to set one up. Either way, your setup is fine if your intention is not to play online.Hey all, wondering if anyone can help.
I have a switch that I hacked quite a while ago but can't remember exactly what I did. Now I'm curious if I should be doing anything else to it (to be up to date/prevebt bricking ect)
I've recently updated to 12.1.0/AMS M.19.5/S
The S at the end tells me in using sysnand and have been using this to play NSPs from tinfoil shops. I try to always keep my switch in standby mode when not in use but when I do need to turn off and on again, I have auto RCM enabled so need to force a payload using PC.
I force the fusee payload which boots me right into atmosphere.
does everything above sound like I've done this right and safe or do I need to change/add some more things? Do I need emunand or is it too late for this now as I've updated since first modding?
There is no CFW that is on version 12.1. SX OS' highest versions is 3.1 and Atmosphere's is 1.2.4Can someone show/tell me how I should go about updating my OFW cuz I’m always afraid of burning fuses/cart not working anymore. My OFW is still on 9.0 while my CFW is on 12.1
So I am thinking/about to hack my switch and I have two main questions.
1: When I checked it using 'Is My Switch Patched' It said it was possibly patched. My question is that what happens if I try it and the switch is patched? Will it just not work or will it do something worse, like a brick or something?
2: If it does work and I hacked my switch, is there any way to 'turn it off' and make it feel like a normal, unhacked switch? I don't exactly feel comfortable with the hacks on all of the time.
Thank you!
Outside of Retroarch, you can use pNES and pSNES.Hey, do you know if you could emulate NES Classic/SNES Classic firmware on Switch, or anywhere in general?
Yeah, but I want to run the real NES Classic firmwareOutside of Retroarch, you can use pNES and pSNES
Exactly, that is the use of EmuMMC, having a full functional system leaving original SysNAD untouched.Thank you for the help so far. I appreciate it. Let me know if I got this correct. I can update my firmware of EmuMMC ONLY without touching sysMMC which should allow me to play Diamond and Pearl remakes?
-Download firmware 13.1
-Extract to the SD card
-Disbale AutoRCM, inject the Hekate 5.6.5 payload while holding down volume to get into the menu and disable AutoRCM
-Load EmuMMC> hbmenu> DayBreak
-Update EmuMMC firmware to 13.1
Questions:
-Is that Firmware okay/safe to use on my switch?
-If disable AutoRCM, do I need to ground pin 10 again after successfully update to be able to AutoRCM for injecting Hekate and load my EmuMMC? ~this seems incorrect to me
Thank you!
I don't understand what you mean. Those consoles are so old that they don't have any 'firmware' to speak of. Their only purpose was to just run games.Yeah, but I want to run the real NES Classic firmware
Oh, You may know it as the NES Mini? It is a smaller version of the NES, and is preloaded with 30 NES Games.I don't understand what you mean. Those consoles are so old that they don't have any 'firmware' to speak of. Their only purpose was to just run games.
You know the NES Classic Edition is also just an emulator?Oh, You may know it as the NES Mini? It is a smaller version of the NES, and is preloaded with 30 NES Games.
Yes even is based on a open source one. Nintendo have two faces...You know the NES Classic Edition is also just an emulator?
on a Hacked console you could theoretically use the nintendo shop, until you get bannedHello,
I'm wondering what steps I need to take if I want to update games and install things from the eShop (like the Japanese voice option for smtV) if I hacked the switch?
The only thing I hacked the switch for was to mod games offline using exefs_patches ips patches. I don't have any hacked games.
I believe I used the atmosphere hack, and I also used hekate to backup the sysNAND (which is the only one I have).
ok I just want to know then:on a Hacked console you could theoretically use the nintendo shop, until you get banned
the best way is use a installer like AtmoXL title Installer, DBI, Goldealf or similar.
If you download the SIGpatches from this forum they are backward compatible, they should just work. No, nothing needs to be installed yet.Do I need to have the game installed before using the SIGpatches? As I haven't been able to install the game, because my system isn't up to date yet. I wanted to try the SIGpatches, but my firmware isn't updated high enough for this SIGpatches. Could I/should I backup my files and drop the SIGpatches onto my SD card? How do I know if this latest SIGpatches will even work for me? These are user submitted. Isn't that a bit dangerous? There is also this resource, but that seems a bit old compared to the release of the remakes of Diamond and Pearl.
Sorry not following you on BDSP.Recap:
-Does BDSP needs to be installed before installing SIGpatches?
Once again if you install the sig patches from this forum they are back ward compatible, up to the newest formware.-My update doesn't match the latest SIGpatches's version
Yep, drop them into the matching bootloader and atmosphere folder in the right place. The right place, matches the folder already there when you download the SIG patches.-Back up first; Can I just drop the SIGpatches onto my SD and try it?
I just use the main ones here, that I posted earlier, they work great and like I said are compatible with older firmware-Are these user submitted SIGpatches a bit dangerous? That's what it says in the OP of SIGpatch thread...
-Is this resource up to date even though it was 21 days ago? It won't help me?
Nothing to pray about they're just SIGpatches.Install Process of SIGpatch:
-Download zip file of SIGpatches
-Backup atmosphere & bootloader
-Merge the contents of the zip of SIGpatches to the root of SD card
-Restart Switch & pray
That right after you install the game from the cart to SD you can put the cart away some where safe. Really great if you have kids who like to loose things.-Install DBSP with winfoil or tinwoo ~the cartridge wouldn't be needed anymore?
If you mean you're real SysMMC, I would not. you're asking got trouble in the form of a ban.Question:
-I wouldn't be able to use this installed game with semi-stock to access Pokemon Home?
I didn't upload any SIGpatches. The SIG patches are the work of Wizards and Gods, I am but a mere mortal.System version: 11.0.1|AMS 1.2.4|E
SIGpatches Only 13.1.0 Atmos 1.2.4 Hekate 5.6.5.zip
Do you mind if I ping you as well as you uploaded the SIGpatches that I am referring to?
No, you should be putting this all on a SD card and boot from that, and you will have a separate partition for your emuMMC, the only interaction would be if you caused an interaction by going online with your emuMMC.ok I just want to know then:
does installing Atmosphere modify the sysNAND in any way? if so how does it do so?
want to make sure so I don't do anything too risky
You may not like this, but I would start fresh, re-do your SD card. Follow the guide from this post. NONE of this is my work, I just kind of compiled the basic thought stream together. The guides are the work of Wizards:I updated my Switch to 13.1.0 and downloaded the latest version of atmosphere (1.2.4) and fuze.bin from github onto the sd card. I just copy/paste files into sd card (previous version was OFW 10.1.0 and CFW 0.13.0) but now when I inject the payload, the switch wont boot and I get the following error:
"A fatal error occurred when running atmosphere.
Program ID 0100000000000008
Error Desc: std: :abort() called (0xffe)"
Do Anyone have a similar problem and solution, any idea what to do?
Thanks in advance!
They mean Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining PearlSorry not following you on BDSP.
