This is my first release for 3DS, which happened thanks to a lot of help I got from Huntereb who helped me figure out the rom repacking process.
This will replace the English voiceovers in SMT4 with the original Japanese ones.
It works with the DLCs since all the DLC data is actually locked on the ROM, similar to Disc-Locked DLCs on PS3/X360.
You need Gateway or a 3DS with 4.5 CFW in which case you'll have to convert the rom to CIA yourself.
You will also need the original Shin Megami Tensei IV US-Region ROM (Shin_Megami_Tensei_IV_3DS-VENOM).
I plan on making EU-Region compatible version as well once someone dumps the ROM for it.
The Undub comes in two variants:
Variant 1: Japanese audio, but English movies (good for first time players)
Variant 2: Japanese audio and Japanese movies (recommended for people who are replaying the game)
The reason for it is that the movies are hardsubbed, similar to how Funimation streams their anime.
Japanese movies have kanji subs hardsubbed into them, Englishb ones have english text hardsubbed.
Should 3DS movie format be reverse engineered in the future, then I'll make a v1.0 version of the undub.
It'll be using English movies but audio from the Japanese movies, remuxed together.
For now it's impossible due to the moflex video format used by some 3DS applications and games (SMT4 is one of them).
If there's any developer willing to reverse engineer 3DS's .moflex video format, I'd very much appreciate it.
How to patch your ROM with the Undub Patch:
1. Open unpack all the files from the archive into a folder and place your SMT4 ROM in it as well.
2. Run xdeltaUI.exe and select "Apply Patch" tab.
3. Press the "Open" button next to the Patch section and pick one of the two undub variant patches.
4. Press the "Open" button next to the Source File section and pick your SMT4 ROM.
5. Press the "..." button next to the Output File section and pick where to save the patched ROM (for example SMT4Undub.3ds).
6. Press the "Patch" button on the bottom and wait until the process is completed (it will take a while depending on your PC).
7. You will get a message once the patching process has been completed, then you go and play your newly patched undubbed ROM.
I will not be providing pre-patched ROMs in the topic as it's now allowed by the forum rules.

*removed link by Cyan*
Contains illegal files from one game to place into the other game.
A 3GB patch, really? packing game's file inside a container (zip, rar, xdelta, etc.) is not allowed here. It's like providing the full game but in .xdelta format, using a patch to provide full official original files is still illegal.
Proper way to make undub patches it to ask users to have both games, and make a patcher to extract/switch files/repack.
EDIT:
Since Cyan is inept and unable to realize that it's impossible to make a simple batch for the process (due to a lot of manual work with the files, it's not a simple copy and paste of Jap audio) and the fact a live 3DS is required to even decrypt the roms in the first place, I recommend everyone who wants this undub to simply go to <snip> and grab it there. Alternatively <snip> if you have an account.
I do check old topics if I get notifications about replies. Weird, never heard of this issue before, do you have a save I could test on? I don't have my old saves anymore so testing without that will be impossible.I don't know op checks his old works or forum topics but I just signed up to thank you for this undub project. However there's a tiny problem with this undub. The last cutscene before credits in the neutral ending is gone. That cutscene is "kinda" important and about the goddess of tokyo. So there's that... If you're going to search net and play undub version, you also should watch a dubbed neutral ending on youtube to see that short cutscene.
I don't think anyone noticed/cared this problem as it is nothing too major.I do check old topics if I get notifications about replies. Weird, never heard of this issue before, do you have a save I could test on? I don't have my old saves anymore so testing without that will be impossible.
Cheers, I will try and test it this weekend and find the problem IF it exists because I played through my own undub and don't recall any such issue, I would've fixed it if I did obviously. Either didn't realize it or something got corrupted in a rom that ended up being all over the internet. In any case I'll find out once I get to it. Can't promise I'll be able to check it this weekend but I will try.I don't think anyone noticed/cared this problem as it is nothing too major.
Also in order to test every smt 4 undub I found on the net, all of which are copies of yours I assume, I made a save point just before the last dialogue of neutral ending on citra.

Good reason to do it really because I've been meaning to make a LayeredFS version of this undub anyway.
On a side note, did you run into any issues in my other SMT 3DS undubs?
I've finally got a little bit of time today so I'll be looking into this soon, will update you once I research it.I saw Maskado rising, credits started to roll and I was like " Well I guess we're not seeing the goddess again." then I coincidentally saw the dubbed version of the ending and tested a dubbed standard version.
Thank you for informing/reminding me about this topic as I totally swarmed by little issues and forgot about it .I've finally got a little bit of time today so I'll be looking into this soon, will update you once I research it.
I can confirm that it indeed does appear to be not working! I shall try and remedy this immediately, also I will be releasing a LayeredFS version of this undub afterwards.Thank you for informing/reminding me about this topic as I totally swarmed by little issues and forgot about it .
By the way I managed to find 0.9 version of your undub, the ones with eng/jap options, and tested them both using that save.
It turned out that they are bigger than 1.0 and unlike 1.0 version cutscene doesn't jump directly to credits and properly show that cutscene.
