Simply put, what are GBATemp's favorite controllers?

As for me, my vote goes to the DualSense (which I'm referring to as the DS5) for right now. As someone who loved the Dualshock 4 for making some much appreciated changes to the comfortability of the Dualshock controllers, to see them improve it for the DS5 is something I never knew I wanted until I held it in my hands. Of course, it helps that it also ditches the micro-USB charging port (which broke on the first 20th Anniversary edition of the controller I had, a controller I wanted to keep alive because it's the freakin' 20th Anniversary controller) for the much better USB-C!

But that's enough about me. What are your favorite controllers, GBATemp!? :)

Right now, definitely the Dualsense, has good ergonomics for my hands personally and I really think the adaptive triggers are a cool idea (though durability will certainly be an issue eventually, which is a shame).

But of all time I think it's the DS3, I was using the same DS3 since I first got a PS3 in like 2009 or something and it's gotten me through basically every PC game ever that's needed a controller, which has been quite a few over the course of 12ish years. The only reason I've stopped using it at this point is because my last mini USB cable finally broke a week or so ago, the battery is dead dead so no BT, and I don't really feel like buying another cable/battery/controller at this point when I have a Dualsense sitting around with nice USB-C connector that I now have plenty of cables for.

A Wii U / GC ‘Elite’ controller would be perfect.

I really like the back paddles on my Xbox Elite controller (e.g. through a Brook converter I can run and jump in BotW without taking my thumb off the right stick, and in Xenoblade X I can move with the left stick and simultaneously select arts with paddles mapped to the d-pad). I find it more comfortable to have the left stick above the d-pad as I use it more. Logically then the ultimate layout would be the Wii U one with both sticks on top, but ideally with paddles I could map to the face buttons.
I really liked the feel of the GameCube controller and its octagonal stick gates, but would miss the now-standard features of four shoulder buttons and clickable sticks.

The WiiU gamepad. It's not even really a fair competition since you can play on the console while your girlfriend 's hugging the television.

Without the screen, I would've voted for dualshock 4. Bought it after trying it in a shop, and often use it for pc games (don't even have a ps4 :P). Won't deny I'm curious about how the PS5 feels, but I'm in no rush.
