Okay that is indeed a bit stupid but when I scouted it, it's the monster I wanted nevertheless, right? So I just have to breed it a few times with Nature Staff to make the stats grow.
Actually, disregard what I said. I have just tested some things and found some cool information. I fought a level 1 antguzzler with the cheat to make it a metal star. The metal star is level 1, but it has level 1 metal star stats, not level 1 antguzzler stats. I also tested this with Munchie and it appears to be consistent. If you fight a level 20 monster, it will have level 20 stats. Also, the metal star, because it has it's own proper stats and not some crappy monster stats like I originally thought, is not detected as hacked. Meaning it can be used online or with breeding to produce other non hacked monsters. So that is awesome.
I also found a way to crash the game. If you go into a fight with 4 monsters, and the monster in your cheat takes up 3 slots, there would then be 6 slots of monsters. The game cannot handle that and crashes.
I've just released a NTR Plugin for DQM3D-TW including 1st Monster in Battle Modification and preventing the 6 Slot Crash. Maybe you wann to give it a try and give me Feedback. :-)

That's awesome. If allowed, I'll be glad to link to it from my original post. I know many users would benefit from this. However, I'm a noob and I only use gateway so I wouldn't know how to try it. But I would really like to know how you managed to prevent the crash.

I'm not quite sure how gateway cheats are created. For the ctr plugin it's c based programming.
To prevent the crash I "only" set the slot 3 and 4 to "empty". This is done by setting ff and 00 to the right places for each slot. The affected area is about 400 Bytes for each slot so I don't know how good it works on gateway.

My original post is about how to edit monster stats in your party. However, there is an issue with the process, the game detects the monster as hacked once a stat of the monster is edited. For example, changing the EXP or ATK will cause the monster to be hacked. This is completely fine for normal game use, but if the player wants to go online, they are unable to as the game detects the monster as hacked.
It is believed that this is due to the checksum of the monster being detected as invalid. Instead of going online, I entered streetpass battle from the menu. They appear to both detect hacked monsters. Once entered and exited for an unhacked team, the checksum of the monsters change. If reverted to their previous checksums, they are detected as hacked. Even though none of the other stats were changed, using a previously working checksum makes the monster invalid. A hacked monster’s checksum does not change if entered and exited streetpass battle.
Also, the hacked monster issue cannot be bypassed by breeding the hacked monster as the resulting monster will have an invalid checksum. A fun way to think about it is the monster has bad genes. The bad genes mean the monster is unable to play online and it gets passed down to any offspring.
I do not know how the checksum is calculated or updated from leveling or created from breeding so it is not possible to edit the stats of the monster without making it invalid. "But pls sir, there must be a way to get op monsters online?!? Is there?" The answer is yes. It is called the ignorance method. Because we don’t know how to calculate the checksum. I will summarize the method later in the post.
Using the cheat “Fight XXX,” you can fight any monster you want. The monster will not appear on the upper screen, but if scouted (using the 100% scout cheat), it will be the monster XXX. The thing about this cheat is that, for example, if you fight a level 5 slime with a metal star as your desired monster, then the scouted monster will be a metal star. It will have level 5 metal star stats. The metal star, though not legit is not considered hacked and is valid.
If you change the address 00586080 (the monsters lvl) to 00000032 (lvl50) then the monster will not have lvl 50 stats. It will still have level 5 stats but be a level 50 monster. This is bad as you cannot increase your stats. If you change the level to 1, the monster will be level 1 but have level 5 stats. This is better as when the monster levels to 50, it essentially has level 55 stats. Optimally, a high level monster should be fought with the cheat to set the level to 1. But we can go further….
If the address 00 58 60 88 (the monsters EXP) is set to 00 FF FF FF (a big number) then the monster has enough exp to reach it’s max level after 1 battle. But, this may not be the max stats for the monster. So, around the 00 58 60 88 address are the main monster stats such as HP, DEF, WIS and obviously EXP. If the stats are set to 9999, and the monster level to 1, and the exp to a big number then the monster is considered hacked. When a battle is won, the monster will level to 50, the monster will have all it’s stats decreased from 9999 to the max of the monster and it will be valid for online use!
Ignorance method for maxed valid monsters:
Turn on 100% scout cheat, prefect stat cheat and fight XXX cheat. (Optional to change skills)
Make sure you edited the fight XXX cheat to your desired monster and edited the skills if desired.
Go to the first gate, fight a slime and scout it.
Your monster will have op 9999 stats and cannot be used online. Fight another slime, kill it this time.
Your monster will have maxed stats and can be used online. DONE!

Another thing, I made a list of codes for people to use to change the monster you fight. All of them are S or SS monsters with a couple exceptions. I do not have all of the S and SS monsters though, just the ones I was interested in and they are in no particular order. So you can cycle through the list and grow a collection of op monsters.
Does anyone here posess the knowledge or have an interest making an EXP multiplier? I know there is a code to boost right to max EXP, but I am looking for something just a tiny bit different. I would like to level out the grinding just a little bit, but I lack the knowledge to do so.
Hey guys hope it's not to rude to ask, but I just made an account to ask if anyone can tell me how to get the 100% scout code:
[100% Scout]
005582FC 000003E8
to work. Currently I am using citra but when activated, the code doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

So I got bored and did a thing, found a google sheets monster list and combined it with the monster list and code in this post to create a sort-able monster cheat code list, hope it helps.
Since it wont let me post a link directly I attempted to add it to my sig. [That failed]

These cheat codes for Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D V1.2 on Citra Emulator
Paste on C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Citra\cheats\0004000000074600.txt
Hi, I'm using Citra and I was wondering if the fight codes would work with the cheats in the emulator. Citra uses Gateway to run its cheats. 100% Recruit works fine, but after testing several fight codes, they don't seem to work.
Subtract 8 from the first half of the encounter codes to get them to work on citra. Big monsters will cause a crash, so be careful to only do those in gates where you face one monster at a time.
Example:
0057ECD4 0000000A - First monster in battle will be Angel Slime
