I guess in the Dolphin Emulator and not on an real Wii.
Do you use Cheats ? If yes,please try and disable it please

So,this is Life.
Maybe you can try an other Build/Version from Dolphin (which Version did you actual use please ?)
If you have Luck,maybe another Version works with the Cheats an the Game.

it's dolphin 5.0 and here are the codes that are enabled:
infinite health
infinite starbits
unlimited time to remount yoshi
balloon Yoshi infinite air
light Yoshi lasts forever
boulder mario/luigi rolls until he hits something
no spin recharge time
no Yoshi flutter recharge time
antigravity jump toggle Z+2
sharper turning when flying
infinite life mushroom
no life loss
no starbit loss
life mushroom gives max lives
another no starbit loss code
wallkick repeatedly off same wall
can do third jump while standing still
don't lose coins when dying
skeleton turtles stay dead
silence 1 health warning beep
ground is always normal
fly when spin move is used
all gold medals
world map bypass
all 3 unlock Luigi codes

Now I understand why Dolphin "protest"..
Maybe a few less,I am sure then it should work for you.
That should be enough.
The Game is supposed to be Fun,too,or not ?
If you still have this Issue,you have to try disabling/enabling One-by-One please.

It means,ENABLE the Cheat please.
You can enable more after trying it and if it wokrs,fine.
Then please try one after one to enable until the Error Message appears.Then you maybe found the Cheat that is not working with Dolphin.

sharper turning when flying has no effect unless spin move to fly is enabled. also, there are more codes I have available that I didn't mention because those codes were not enabled. Also, there is no way to point the Wii remote at the screen
