My Wii has been bricked a couple of times, but I followed what everyone kept telling me, to make sure Bootmii is installed to boot2 and I have and it has saved me many times. But this time it's not working anymore when I restore the NAND I backed up, I have many back-ups but none are working. I figured maybe its the Bluetooth dongle going bad, but I'm able to turn on the Wii with the Wiimote so it couldn't be. Someone online said maybe I need to change the battery in the console, so I put a new battery in and now...the Wii stays on a Yellow Light instead of Red. I hold the power button, removed the AC port and it's still yellow. So now my Wii is still stuck on black screen and it's stuck on a yellow light. I'm still able to boot to Bootmii and I have access to the Homebrew Channel....well kinda. I can go to the Homebrew Channel but none of the apps appear. I changed SD's made sure it was FAT32, check if the apps are in the correct folder path and even tried using a USB FAT32 but I still got nothing. I have used ohneswanzenegger and NAND Formatter, but still no luck. Also, my disc drive is not working so that's a bummer. Could it be a hardware issue? Is my Wii done for? I need all the help I can get.

TL;DR: Wii stuck on a Black screen and the power light is always Yellow even after I disconnected the AC. Bootmii is installed to boot2 but restoring NAND doesn't work, Need Help!

This sounds to me as there is a ribbon cable not connected right.
Ribbon Cable? What do you mean?

What are you doing to "brick" your Wii multiple times?
I'm not sure, when I'm using the Wii, it will sometimes just freeze in the System Menu and I will have to restart the Wii and that will be it. Sometimes a regular Restart doesn't work, I will have to restore to get it working again, but now a Restore doesn't work anymore.

Have you tried using BootMii to check for bad blocks? The NAND might be failing.

Hello, sorry for the late response I gave up for a couple of months and now decided to come back and finally fix this thing. I checked for any bad blocks and three of them are bad:

Factory bad block 1751
Factory bad block 3027
Factory bad block 3028

I just imported my NAND Backups in the Dolphin Emulator and they seem to work fine. I'm starting to think that maybe this is a Hardware issue instead...however, I'm still able to boot to Bootmii and HBC (without any apps loading). I just can't go to the Wii System Menu at all.

Than you should use a new loader like usb loader go or wiiflow to launch all your games and channels

Since you can boot homebrew you can use emunand to load the system menu if you wanted

Have you tried opening it to check out your connections/ribbon cables on the mainboard? Might just need a reseating on one of them.

Oof, I hope that's not the case, I don't want to mess with any hardware stuff, I will open it up and give you an update.

sure the sd card reader isnt dead?
I don't think so, If it was dead I wouldn't be able to have access to bootmii right?

I have bootmii installed on the Wii boot2 however, I can't access it unless I have the bootmii folder in the SD card which contains files like ppcboot.elf, the ini and armboot.bin.

In my experience, the Wii is very friendly with its disassembly. Follow a guide on ifixit if you have to take it apart.

I can go to the homebrew channel through bootmii however, none of the apps show up. I try different formats with the SD card and still nothing is showing up.

Hello.:)

Please can you check this Points:

- your Wii was an an higher System Version as 4.0x before the "Brick".
- if not then try to use NON SDHC SD Cards
- if yes please try SD Cards not bigger than 32 GB
- SD Card is formatted with FAT32
- please try a regular SD Cards and NO microSD Card with Adapter
- on the Homebrew Channel press "1" on your Wii Motion Controller and check the Source is intern SD Card Slot please.

Thank you and
Good luck.:)
