It's not that they 'don't know' how to make it work on SX OS, nor are they arbitrarily blocking SX OS. But Retroarch is only tested on Atmosphere and no specific testing is done on SX OS. It may or may not work, but nobody will help you if it does not work.
SX OS being closed sources DOES mean that it can be difficult to diagnose issues caused on the OS side. Atmosphere has upstreamed plenty of pull requests specifically for homebrew functionality. No developer wants to be at the whim of TX.

Can somebody clarify if skies of arcadia's text is completely screwed up? Did some quick searching, just saw one guy post that it runs. Yeah, it does, but the text is completely unformatted, making it pretty unplayable. Just checking to make sure its not me or if there is a fix out there.
Skies of Arcadia works in the latest version, the text was fixed around a week ago. Update to the latest nightly.
Edit- sorry, I meant Skies of Arcadia works in the latest Flycast.

I tried to play Silver (EU) with the JP bios. No texts on screen and game break. So be sure to use a BIOS that is compatible with the game version you have. Just in case.

Grab the most recent Build, and you should be good. Requires holding R and Selecting a Game Card, or Installed Game/App/Demo

i didn't have to I just had to update online core! I'm soo happy rn because I can now play powerstone 2....ON THE GO!!!!
