Wondering if Nintendo has plans of making a smaller portable dock for the switch? I hate using my dock as it looks like its scratching the screen and I dont want to use third party docks that could brick it

I believe most of the kinks have been worked out of the 3rd party docks, but you could always go a different route and get one of the 3rd party docks that has you transfer the internals of the official one in.

i believe it was the portable docks but at the same time a patch that nintendo came out with to fix it. because i had that portable dock from day 1. and it was right after all the scares, an update came out and no one mentioned it anymore, it was just a good idea to not use them. im using one "pre dock fix" so im just saying i think nintendo fixed it with an update.

Well you could just transfer the 1st party dock into a 3rd party case. It uses all the parts and shouldn't brick your console (some don't use the LED for lazy reasons). It works well with the 2nd hand dock I bought. I use that dock whenever I am traveling while my main stays at home.

I use this one:

https://www.amazon.com/LinkStyle-Ni...2RAQT193K7W&psc=1&refRID=FM9VQR0Y32RAQT193K7W

because it uses the LED light from the dock.

There's a small dock from the credible company Skull & Co. tested to be brick-proof: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1274541538/jumpgate-a-versatile-dock-for-switch-and-smart-dev
You can also detach a core drive to make it even smaller.
I think I'll try this. Thanks!

Wonder If I can saw off the front panel of the switch dock?

AFAIK, the LED is the only part in the front and it's at the bottom, so in theory you could probably saw it off.
