Also the OP seemed to disappear when i first said I didnt believe him then a bunch of others have as well.
Done, happy?So you downloaded a wii game off google drive and got a notice? I don't believe you. You already changed "legal file" to "wii and switch games" Post the notice, you could black out your personal info.
Tell you friends to call atnt and say people hacked his internet he doesn’t know what the emails about and he needs help getting rid of the hackersHi sorry I’m back, I had work and just a huge amount of homework, but let me fill you in on the story: I was having a sleep over at a friends house and I brought my switch, Wii, and laptop... I download smash for Wii and shovel knight for switch at the sleep over. I come home today to find out that he’s mad at me because of this a email AT&T sent (forwarded the email to me) I didn’t understand why this happened and what trouble I got my friend into so I asked the smart people of Gbatemp for some answers. And wow thank you all for filling me in and telling me how stupid I am, but in my defense I wasn’t thinking at the time... So I understand now...
(Also shovel knight was direct and smash for Wii was google drive, sorry for the confusion )
Edit: I will add the email to the og post to show this isn’t fake ;-;

Maybe it was the torrent I downloaded though drive(?)Thanks for posting that but one problem, Google Drive is not P2P. P2P means Peer 2 Peer and the way you connect with other peers cannot be through Google Drive. That's a torrent.
Google Drive is cloud based and simply involves someone uploading it and then someone (later) downloading it. P2P you are both uploading and downloading at the same time. They're not the same thing at all.
It is possible though to get a torrent link through Google Drive that would make sense.
hey so quick question, I was downloading a..... “completely legal” file and got sent an email from AT&T saying they know about it and I have a strike, what should I do?
If it's his own ISP catching him nothing will work. They will know even if you're using a VPN.
Also, if it really was torrent, then you brought that upon yourself. They're more after that because you're also uploading and sharing while downloading.Port 8989 is a often used for torrent software. So no, it's no Gdrive here. It's a plain old Bittorrent usage.
Yep, I asked for the post to be taken down but was told “there’s no need” so If a mod sees this, please lock itWell. The mystery has been solved, OP downloaded a torrent from Gdrive rather than the actual file and that particular torrent was being monitored by a white knight company that logs and reports users to their ISPs.
you should immediately tell them to fuck off and that you are dropping them and going to another providerhey so quick question, I was downloading a..... “completely legal” file and got sent an email from AT&T saying they know about it and I have a strike, what should I do?

LOL. In Portugal, they don't care about it. No wonder America is so strict and mean. Yikes!
