Odd Amazon placeholder shows potential countdown for Bethesda game

Retailers are known to have occasional oddities; listing incorrect release dates, or even sometimes posting pages for games that don’t exist. However, a new listing for a game on Amazon seems to be particularly interesting. Placeholder E01, T03, and S02 have all gone live on Amazon US, with the minimal details consisting of it being a full priced retail game, and being published by Bethesda. There’s also a countdown video, using the same style from the Fallout series. Nothing has been revealed, but the teaser seems to imply that Bethesda has something up its sleeve, or that Amazon has made an incredibly weird and specific mistake. Initially, all forms of the game could be pre-ordered, but Amazon now claims that there is no more stock left.

Update: Only one version of the placeholder exists, now. Linked here.

Update 2: Amazon has removed all listings.

I would hope for Bethesda that's the date a completely overhauled Fallout76 will be released free of charge for buyers of the former release...

But I have to point out as well, dec. 31st is not a very plausible date for a game release at all. So it's much more plausible to assume this was simply a mistake by Amazon.

Shouldn't be gbatemp front page news, that's for sure. Bethesda getting sued, shutting down etc. would be front page news.
