Another hard-working day at TX headquarters and yet another release, this time around just small update to their SX Dumper app. :)
Another day, another update from your Xecuter team.

This time it is SX Dumper which goes to v1.0.3 with a new function to dump cert only.

1.0.3 Change log:
  • Add option for cert only dumping output:
    Selected folder/certificates/gamename [cert crc32].cert

(As usual, please remember all our latest releases & apps, can be found on our sx.xecuter.com portal website)
(What follows below is the last few announcements regarding the SX Dumper from TX, click the 'Spoiler' to see the previous details in full.)
SX Dumper continues to get feedback from our SX OS users!

And [WAIN] continues to return the thanks for all the feedback we received, by releasing another small update.

Enjoy!

1.0.2
  • fixed splitting no longer hang on after 2gb.
SX Dumper was a hit as soon as it was published and thanks to all the feedback we received, [WAIN] was still on fire and updated it right away.

Enjoy! :)

  • fixed bug with detecting cart too quickly.

Today, we are back with the help of our friends [WAIN] who developed a very useful app for SX OS: the SX Dumper!

As the name indicates it, this app will allow you to dump an original game to your microSD card or USB HDD and then play directly with your backup without the need of the original game anymore. This version 1.0.0 is already packed with features, and we are already working on the next update(s) to bring you an even smoother experience.

SX Dumper v1.0.0
  • Dump to .XCI
  • Automatically filenaming (full gamename.xci)
  • USB HDD & microSD Card support
  • Trimmed dumping (removed unused space from backup)
  • Certificate wiping
  • Splitting files for FAT32 filesystem
  • CRC checking dumped image

I just want to hold my OS clean, I don't like many NPS files. It's just my personal wish to integrate this app into SX OS.

By the way.. at the moment I'm using Gcdumptool - which app is better?
GCDumptool is FOSS. This isn't.

Objectively that makes GCDumptool the better choice :P

(Although both are based on WAIN which makes the FOSS kinda bs, but you can still poke at GCDumptools source and not at this ones)

If you want to go that way, SX OS exists thanks to Atmosphere. Same goes for every other CFW out there. All are to some degree based on Atmo.
And if what @ZachyCatGames says is true, there is still a difference in coming up with own solution, but later and using already working solution.
Atmosphere exists thanks to Horizon. Horizon exists thanks to Nintendo. Nintendo exists thanks to Atari. Atari exists thanks to some electrical engineer. That electrical engineer exists thanks to electricity. To make a long story short we should all be thanking God.

Guys and gals SSB is coming out soon, i know not everyone will be buying a 2nd switch for it.

but will you all risk it , i personally will roll the dice, I'll just get the first week trial of Nintendo online and I'll buy a physical copy of SSB and will boot into ofw and try my luck!

I would like to know how many users get banned by Nintendo using a dumped leaked copy! I bet Nintendo will be in overdrive mode. Unless you are banned already I wonder if anyone would actually have the balls to use a dumped leaked copy.. myself I wouldn’t even entertain it!

Actually, they outright say its WAIN in the announcement.

Which would make this a copyright violation, since WAIN is a leaked tool from the ReSwitched discord and as a result the copyright still lies with the ReSwitched team or the individual creator of WAIN.

Time to whip out the rules on warez I suppose...

(emphasis in the last paragraph mine)

There's a link to their miniportal in the OP and maxconsole also openly links to TX's website.

Therefore making SX Dumper a rules violation of this site.
WAIN is not associated with ReSwitched. It simply got leaked there. Just because it was leaked on their server doesn't make ReSwitch have any part of this software.

Do you by any chance know the original developer/person who leaked it? Even an online handle would be nice.
Yes, it's WAIN. WAIN is the developer name. The actually software is GameCardDumper or GameCartDumper depending on the version. Someone posted it to the ReSwitch discord, and when it did, I posted it on GBATemp. V1 was based on Switch Game Card Dumper from MCMrARM which was based on https://gist.github.com/AcK77/56b86469faef238157a0e02cb962ee30

However v2 is reworked from the ground up and is no longer based on Switch Game Card Dumper from MCMrARM.

@garyopa thanks for the new update. Would it possible please to add a dump feature for the certificate only in the next update, probably dumped to the micro sd card would be a better option. This can come in handy if you want to store the certificates separate!

ok, good idea. -- will suggest that.
Thanks, it can be a really handy feature to have I use this regular with gcdumptool which I wont need anymore. I did edit my comment up above for you but I thought maybe if it was dumped to the micro sd card instead of the hdd, it would be an easier more sensible route to take for the certificate to be extracted.

If this is a stand alone Homebrew application how come we're in backup loaders. I guess it is a backup dumper so it fits here.

But how come the thread was updated and not just have a new thread? We have the technology to just update threads now? Does this mean no more new threads for minor cfw updates (pretty much all of them) ?

On a less thread making concern, does this app have an auto update function like the os? Was there a demand for this Homebrew app that went under my nose, or was it made preemptively as a kind gesture?
