Because of violations of the GPL. They want TX to release the sourcecode since it's required if they changed it. Then again, good luck getting the source code for this.
iyeaht thats the only reason they care for gpl. They hope to get stuff like the xci loader for free (well it will happen eventually but they want it now not later). quite ironic xD

Omg they violated the GPL, but the fact that they're breaking the law almost everywhere in the world by enabling piracy is no biggie, right ? If they're not scared of Nintendo coming after them, why would anyone assume they care about GPL ?

Pirating DK is fair game in my book, you wanna sell a port in a shady way, I'll get in a shady way, but not BOTW dude.
You have switch so money isn't that much of an issue.
Buy it, you can do it man.

TX used an early version of hbl in their work, without #reswitched and #switchdev they would still be in development, plain and simple. The fact they used a very early build of hbl proves that they basically started the project with stolen work. TX had always done this, they stand on the shoulders of giants and after adding a little to their work, they sell it for profit.

So is the xci streaming into the fs module than not basically the same as layered fs?

Basically. The difference is, that the backup loader decrypts the XCI for you, and streams it to the game card input. Also the signature check or whatever, is disabled, so that games are able to run, although they're not legit. The backup loader itself is very basic. Once Atmosphere releases, it won't take a week, till a open source backup loader pops up.

Very basic? Then why you don’t do it?
Big mouth but retard af

As I said. The backup loader is basic. Not the CFW, they stole, itself.

I have very much respect for Team ReSwitched. Their knowledge, ability and will to use their time for this shitty community is amazing. So no, I'm not as good as them. I rely on them, to do the hard work first.

And yes, you can give credit to TX for finishing off TRs work, enough for it to work. I'm absolutely sure they have someone with more knowledge than me. Especially on the hardware level.

Once the CFW is finished though? I'm very sure in my ability to write a backup loader comparable to SXs. It doesn't rely on the hardware at all. It's all just software at that point. I don't think that it needs more than ~150-200 LOC to do that.

A. Please cut down on the insults.
B. The first guy is correct. The large portion of SX OS (the backup loader) is from Atmosphere and nx-hbmenu. Without the existence of both of these tools, SX OS would not be released for... I would say another few months, assuming TX weren't just waiting for ReSwitched and Switchbrew to do the majority of their work for them.

The only (slightly) impressive part on TX's end is the removal of the signature patches. Which, along with the rest of SX OS should be public, as they make use of Atmosphere, which is licensed under the copyleft GPLv2. Copyleft means that if you use code from a project with that license, you must license it under a license that forces you to follow at the least the same terms as the original license.

What as a result I personally not just desire, but demand as this is the only way you can make SX OS not warez is for them to release SX OS's source code to the public. Unlikely, but if people would at least stop throwing around weak defenses amongst the lines of "if you dont want it stolen, dont make it public" or "muhahaha TX are so much better than ReSwitched/switchbrew/f0f" (and any other weak excuses I've seen pop up in this thread), it would at least prevent them from having what appears to be still a pretty average good view in the scene. Which they shouldn't have. Because they don't deserve it. Because they stole the work from others.

And finally to anyone who says "we got the goods, I don't care". I could make you an argument about how Free software matters, but I don't think you care for that. Instead, I would like to refer to you to the rules section of GBATemp. You are admitting to piracy and warez. I can't really put it another way. SX OS for all intents and purposes is just as against the rules to link or discuss to as a Wii ISO file or a 3DS CIA dump. TX's site itself is no better than the sites that people toss around here like it's like you're talking about Lord Voldemort.

Sorry, if my post came out as insulting to anyone besides TX. :) And well, with ‘shitty community’ I mean these who defend such bad practices. That’s just a shitty thing to do, so calling it shitty is justified IMHO.

The only thing that really surprises me is that the design for the dongle isn't stolen as well
I think in another thread they've made a script that mimics the function of the dongle. Obviously, a mere novice can't just stick that into a USB and make the dongle. That much effort requires skill that goes beyond simply reading instructions from a computer screen.

Gbatemp rules dont let share piracy, nobody is putting their files in their servers because is TX property even though it could have stolen code, you can defend all you want but we are just talking about it, your comment will go unnoticed because really no one cares

Wrong. If anyone is "waiting around" it's the developers of those free apps you mention. Waiting for SX OS to be cracked so they can add the features to their own work. TX has already delivered two updates with new previously unseen features. They aren't waiting for anybody.

If, as you say, the bulk of SX OS is stolen from this free app, why doesn't the free version have the same features as SX OS yet? Should be simple for them to add by your assessment, since what TX has done is not impressive. The precedent has been set so there's no reason for them not to update their apps now. Everyone is waiting so what's the hold up?

What as a result I personally not just desire, but demand as this is the only way you can make SX OS not warez is for them to release SX OS's source code to the public.

Interesting how suddenly now there are claims of "stolen code" in a pathetic attempt to force TX to release the SX OS source. It's almost as if they need it for something. :rofl2:
