So I purchased a working wii u its on 5.5.2 and all I want to know is how to properly transfer files.

I asked the guy who sold me how to do it but he also purchased it from someone and only use the supplied USB that contains Zelda. (only thing he played)

to make it short, after the damage has been done, the wiiu is running CBHC on boot. that's when I mistakenly re installed the Haxchi. then I noticed that the CBHC boot has been gone, though it still wokrs I click anything it just persistently goes to HOMEBREW launcher , I also remember installing The homebrew launcher channel 2.

I know this is an another cry for help but

WORKS -

I can go to the internet
Access to eshop ( using the old user who purchased the brain age) still thinking if i should delete and re install everything the game.
Can still go into Homebrew channel
Can Load Retro arch or play other emulator
Flappy bird
FTP
* update ( loadliine GX2) works with a game.

ONLY thing I can't access is the Wii U main menu, whenever I click that It just there stuck on Wii U Menu. when I boot up I dont see the fastboot just the quick menu and can see the brain age icon and other option like miiverse, some controller option which opens and works.

Can anyone shed some light just really really confused.

Hmm.. weird, I tried Loadiine GX2 on homebrew and did a quick install, virtual wii u game. Order of ecclessia and Pokemon,

both works. Just weird, Don't know if this is brick but hopefully. or probably I just messed up something. only thing I noticed again is the the bootup black screen has been gone which I believe is the CBHC and I can't go to the Wii U menu, again it boots on quick menu with minimal icons which derives me on Homebrew channel.

If I were you I would uninstall CBHC and then completely wipe the whole thing and start over fresh. Follow these steps:

1. If you can boot to Homebrew Launcher then make sure you have the CBHC installer present on the SD card and click on that through HBL. Choose the uninstall option. After that your Wii U should boot normally to the Wii U menu.
2. Once you can get to the Wii U menu go to settings and completely reset your Wii U to factory defaults. When it's done it should be like a brand new Wii U.
3. Go through the community guide and pick your hacks and follow the guide. Most important step: backup the nand.

It's better to go through all the steps yourself so you know what type of hack you're using and how to troubleshoot when you have problems.

Just don't wipe your Wii U until you have gone through the CBHC uninstall. That's very important.

Thanks so much I was actually waiting for your reply since I saw you're always active and hoping to get a proper answer, even saw your hard unbricking just in case (not for the faint hearted ;) I will try probably tomorrow and see what happens.

hopefully It can undo what I did,

I was thinking of un-installing a while a go, going through the git repo directly by the dev but was really afraid, that it might go downhill but hearing your advice I might go with it. I will update. and surely do a proper one. It just really confusing going on blind purchasing a new one thinking it will be a walk in the park thanks!

just an update I managed to un install cbhc. and manage to get into the wii u menu.. YAY!

just wanting to be sure.

so I have to go to the settings and do a reset factory for the wii u (is it already safe?) or do I have to uninstall the game or remove anything else? just want to be sure before resetting it to clean slate. so far I dont see the brain age anymore. as well.

so my understanding is after this has been factory resetted I can start on my own 5.5.2 research for jb. also i have the original brain age physical, is there any way to use that or really digitally to purchase it again? does the mango thing help?

cheers :) also big thanks to kafluke!

I would still wipe it. If you were to somehow accidentally install something from the other users NNID and then that user deactivated it you would be in trouble. No need to mess around.

Also yes, it's very important that the game you use for HaxChi is from the eshop.

Also, just kind of a PSA for everybody, if you need my help please tag me. I accidentally wandered in here the other day but spend most my time in the Switch forums these days.

Just a question I was about to delete the virtual console game under the data management, https://wiiu.hacks.guide/uninstall-cfw.html

though I can still see the "don't touch me icon", is it safe to delete? or just reset wipe the wii u to factory? just like you said, Also I tried going to homebrew but looks like it doesn't work anymore just goes back to main menu.

Thanks.

As long as you are sure that CBHC no longer exists on the system then just wipe it and start fresh. The HaxChi DS title has been altered by CBHC so it may not work anymore and yes, the icon will still say "don't touch me". Better to start fresh than to try and make sense of what some other person did to the system.
