Hum, so Playing backups games ONLINE in Custom firmware = message
but Playing you reals games in original firmware = Still works ?

So for now, Nintendo just "ban" online only with backup ????? we will see

but if i can play with my legit games but not with my backups, for me is perfect, i will just buy online games, and DL games without online !

All my games i like...are already on my Wii U, and Legit

but buying 2 MK8 or 2 DK or 2 Zelda or 2 Hyrule warriors.... not for me

and others gamers are on my PC (doom, roquet league, fortnite and all others)

but i think we will know more about SX OS, PRO, ban etc very soon !

I don't think so. The message was saying Nintendo "restricted" the online service. This doesn't show up when you try to play online with no wifi normally

I believe the issue is also this: the cart dump has no header, so Nintendo automatically (or after some time) restricts the online use, since the system knows the software isn't legit. What we'll have to see is if this will result or not in a future account ban. It's still risky to do this since Nintendo could have flagged your account and be waiting for a banwave. They're certainly not blind to the news that a lot of users are starting to use SX. But I hope I'm wrong lol

Just tried my own backup on mk8 with the correct cert etc. I get the same error message. However if i insert the actual game cart (same cert) i can play online just fine.
Seems they're able to detect that we are not actually playing from a cart as the cert thing in this situation is irrelevent.

Just to add, I can play the mk8 cart on sx cfw.

Now this is interesting. Could it mean that Nintendo can already detect the CFW use? Only the future will tell. But let me ask you this, have you already played a backup game online before trying with the legit one?

Nope, only tried my backup of mk8 to see if it would let me play online. It will not...

It was also the first time connecting online on this switch (second switch).

Means Nintendo is able to detect cfw and block backups online or TX intentionally made the backup loader unable to play backups online.

Hmm they did say they were playing online ‘multiplayer’, not just being connected to the internet. I mean that’s assuming they aren’t all lying but I doubt that tbh.

Someone was ignoring the warning of loading backups online. Are you able to still play legit purchases online or is it a permanent ban throughout all games?
