No Man's Sky to get online multiplayer

IMG_8015.JPG

No Man's Sky has already announced that it has an upcoming major content in the pipeline--one called NEXT. However, today, we got some new details about what we'll be getting with this new update. The most significant of which is that of the new online multiplayer feature. You can now play simultaneously with other players, building and adventuring throughout the world. Racing and dogfighting in aerial vehicles was also mentioned. This update is set to go live for all versions of the game on July 24. This reveal was made during this month's Xbox Insider video.

Be glad that they're doing their best to fix their game compared to other companies
Hey, I don't know anything about this company, but I do know they could have delayed the game until the announced features was available. Not talk about all the features, release the game then add them later in future. It's good they are fixing it but so far I seen many companies that abuse this patching feature like it's glue and tape for a piece of broken wood or metal. Release a incomplete game, and then complete it later. Almost as if they needed extra funds to complete the game cause what they had they used it all and sold it for $60.

Developers sometimes are just abusing the ability to release update patches for games, when it should be done for important stuff like fixing a issue or adding content to a "ALREADY COMPLETED" game to expand it's play ability among players who request it. Not use it to complete a game you sold to many people incomplete.

Completely skipped this game.. When it was new.. Mostly because of the bad reputation.. & pure hate.. Flying around the net... But now it' ccheap as chips.. I might pick it up.. Since I've pretty much got everything on my ps4 pro.. Or is it just a pure dud??
how is the state of the game currently? close to what it was advertised in the beggining or is now a different game?
i know in the beggining it was totally shit, and the developers mislead and lied about plenty of features and stuff the game was supposed to have..
i am wondering if the developers slowly added what they promissed or basically rebuilt the game and went other path
It's not a bad game. The problem comes from the PR before the game released. The devs touted it as the next best thing since sliced bread, going on talk shows (which is what got me interested) and all sorts of web review sites showing inaccurate footage and promising features that haven't existed and still won't until this patch. People seem to trash talk this game more than any other even though "E3 build/footage" is synonymous with "maybe with technology from 10 years in the future." This wasn't the first game to be overhyped and it certainly won't be the last.

That being said, the game isn't for everyone. Exploration is what you're doing for the vast majority of the game and action plays a smaller role. You do the normal survival game things like building a base and collecting materials to make more advanced technology. If you are a big fan of survival games there's an optional mode that makes the environment more dangerous. If you enjoy slower, exploration-based games (and aren't one of the several people in this thread having a "lol No Man Cares" circle jerk) you'll probably enjoy No Man's Sky. I definitely wouldn't recommend it at a $60 price tag, but at half that I'd say to give it a shot.

Well I think I will shall pick it up.. My sons love minecraft ( which I hate) so if all else fails me.. I' sure they would enjoy building things.. Just like they did in fallout 4... We recently got that new Conan game... For ps4.. Looked really good.. In a few reviews & pictures ect.. But it' god awful.. Feels & plays like a broken PC game... But you can build.. Stuff.. So they will play it.. Until I trade it... I think no sky is $15 at gamestop with the elite membership.. Worth a go I suppose..

I actually might consider getting this game if the multiplayer ends up being good. Seems like a chill game that can be a good introduction to fps controls for someone new to those games, which is something I've been looking for lately. I also prefer the graphical design of this game to the one of Minecraft. Still, it's nothing I'll consider getting within a year.

I'm in a strange kind of opposite than most people. I bought this last week on a serious discount...but I couldn't care less about any sort of multiplayer. :P Not to offend anyone, but in my experience, any sense of theme and atmosphere gets lost when your "fellow explorer" starts teabagging the wall of toilets he built at the entrance of your base.

The thing is, even with multiplayer, the sheer amount of different star systems that exist in the game make it unlikely to meet anyone except at starting planets since I imagine they're relatively limited. Unless there's some kind of matchmaking I don't expect to see many if any other people in the game.

The only places I can imagine where multiplayer will really shine are at Player based factions like the Hub project, or The Federation and many other groups.

The Hub Project seems to already be in the process of setting up a small militia in the event of pirate based squads or war. It'll definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out at these large congregations of players.

But outside of these congregations I agree, I don't think multiplayer will have much of an impact to an individual player. The most they'll probably see are beacons left behind or systems previously discovered by others.
